Racing to End Alzheimer’s set for Mid-Ohio endurance race

The Michelin Pilot Challenge headlines the weekend at the famed Ohio road course

LOS ANGELES (June 2, 2025) – Following its successful debut weekend with Stephen Cameron Racing last month, Racing to End Alzheimer’s heads to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for the second of two four-hour endurance races in the 2025 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.

Drivers Sean Quinlan and Greg Liefooghe are back behind the wheel of the No. 19 Racing to End Alzheimer’s Ford Mustang GT4, ready to tackle the demanding 13-turn, 2.258-mile natural terrain road course that is located, appropriately, midway between Cleveland and Columbus. The duo finished eighth in the four-hour race at Daytona International Speedway in January – part of the Rolex 24 at Daytona weekend – and scored a top 10 finish last month at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.

But as always, the on-track action is only part of the story. Racing to End Alzheimer’s founder Phil Frengs remains committed to the program’s mission statement: fund the care and find the cure. Despite losing his beloved wife Mimi to Alzheimer’s last month – her diagnosis in 2013 being the catalyst for him to start Racing to End Alzheimer’s – Frengs is as determined as ever to continue his work at the racetrack and beyond.

“Racing to End Alzheimer’s isn’t just a job to me – it’s a vocation now,” said Frengs. “Mimi is no longer with us but her spirit continues to guide us, and in her name, we’ll continue this fight. We talk to so many people on these race weekends and so many of them have their own story to tell – about a parent, a grandparent, a teacher or friend’s friend who suffered from Alzheimer’s. We’re honored to put their names on the car and celebrate their lives as well.”

The No. 19 (Racing to End Alzheimer’s) Mustang gives families the chance to honor loved ones who have suffered from Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. For a $250 donation, the family member’s name and hometown is placed on the car, and their photo can be posted on the Racing to End Alzheimer’s website’s tribute page. All donations are matched by Frengs’s company Legistics, with 100% going to the program’s two beneficiaries – the Nantz National Alzheimer Center at Houston Methodist, and the UCLA Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Program.

To date, Racing to End Alzheimer’s has donated over $1 million to those two programs.

Frengs also looks forward to racing at Mid-Ohio, knowing that the Michelin Pilot Challenge races are always tight, tough events, with the winning teams often employing precise fuel strategy to come out on top after four hours.

“Mid-Ohio is so fast now, since the repaving in late 2023,” said Frengs. “It was an exciting debut of the four-hour race there last year – which was also the team’s first season with the Ford Mustang. With a full season of experience with the car, and a solid debut for our program with Stephen Cameron Racing last month, we’re ready to take it on.”

The O’Reilly Auto Parts 4 Hours of Mid-Ohio for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge takes the green flag Sunday at Noon ET. The race will be broadcast live in the U.S. on Peacock TV, and internationally on IMSA.tv and on IMSA’s YouTube channel – ad-free courtesy of Michelin.
