(Aug. 30, 2019) &#8211; Battery Tender<strong>\u00ae\u00a0<\/strong>Global Mazda MX<strong>&#8211;<\/strong>5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires\u00ae points leader Bryan Ortiz was the quickest in practice at Portland International Raceway.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Ortiz (No. 4 Copeland Motorsports) topped both practice sessions at the 1.964-mile circuit. His lap of 1:25.3555-seconds in the afternoon session was the fastest of the day. Robert Stout (No. 28 McCumbee McAleer Racing) was second-quickest in combined practice times. Rookie Gresham Wagner was third quickest.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the ND1 class for the previous generation MX-5 Cup race car, John Dean II (No. 16 Sick Sideways Racing) set the best practice time of the day.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Qualifying is set for 8:30am local time Saturday. The first of two races in Portland goes green at 12:45pm Saturday. Sunday\u2019s race takes place at 8:30am.
