(24\u00a0February 2020) \u2013\u00a0With a full-time staff that includes several former NASCAR regulars, JR III Racing has grown its race operation to have a hand in several different categories of competition.\u00a0The growth of the establishment in the last year has exceeded its current 10,000 sq. ft.\u00a0facility in Mooresville, NC and the team has now begun breaking ground on a 7,000 sq. ft. addition.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As well as its\u00a0established vintage racing clientele, JR III Racing made the step into the IMSA Prototype Challenge (IPC) series with a limited schedule in 2019 ahead of a full-season program in 2020.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">While the current shop has seven full-time employees and houses almost 20 vintage cars\u00a0which JR III preps for SVRA and club racing events, it also holds two Ligier LMP3s and one Norma Prototype Challenge car. With a full house, it was time for expansion and JR III Racing hopes to complete the project by the end of the year.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignleft\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/54q9K97-xIfIn78aGyVKDDGMWFe1bUsCwvPwXx5IYqX-M5LsMBOqARstNKOP4nH2wefj4Glr61QirR8MqAAtpSMbaWiEzWzOOwOsn-_p5kYEL57rdnsBeCNUeebHdkAu-0koRSWZ0YjF6Zz3xa2XuA84UlgekOs=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/883d7be5-093c-4256-9181-c356933d2dc2.jpeg\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" \/>The expansion will bring the JR III Racing facility from 10,000 square feet to 17,000 square feet, allowing for a larger workspace for the team\u2019s growing vintage racing clientele as well as storage for pit lane and track equipment needed for events.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Expanding the shop is\u00a0another step forward for the team as\u00a0JR III Racing team owner Billy Glavin grows to meet client demand and prepare for expanded operations in the future.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u201cWhen we moved into our current race shop, our business had already expanded and filled the space,\u201d said Glavin. \u201cThe expansion allows for us to continue growing and bringing in more customer cars to work on. From July to December 2019, JR III Racing grew from three employees to seven. We are settling into our new routine and schedule while continuing to provide high-level restorations and race preparation with the very experienced crew we have welcomed.\u201d<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Things will be busy at the shop as construction goes on and as the team embarks on an intense schedule of events to kick off the racing season.\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignright\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci5.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/_uHKKPXRXWUC8C-FjhW7oLPXb3g9EDW5yQvftZXwbB-NMT6NUfxbiZ23_hu_uV9LIep0JAbOvzB3JB7lfqJslexVfWRDmJMwN96r_Hn2h0NtMsIOb1SuQunmMcSH67Uu6hLVOGiHHGQ4V8NyNpMY2tG2R22urnLr-5s5nA=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/_compresseds\/3a0d6123-eb97-4283-92a5-381dc9e75090.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>JR III Racing made its 2020\u00a0IPC\u00a0debut with the season opener\u00a0in January\u00a0at Daytona International Speedway during the Roar Before the 24 weekend. Father-son driving duo, Greg and Eric Palmer, took to the high banks and\u00a0technical infield\u00a0of the 3.56-mile road course in the No. 3 Copps Industries\u00a0Ligier.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Starting the race under\u00a0wet conditions, the elder Palmer\u00a0moved\u00a0up the order\u00a0to see fourth by the end of the first hour of the three-hour event.\u00a0 Eric Palmer then\u00a0got behind the wheel\u00a0to close out the race,\u00a0securing the team\u2019s first top 10\u00a0finish\u00a0of the season.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\">Having checked off Round 1 of 6 in the IMSA Prototype\u00a0Challenge season,\u00a0JR III Racing\u2019s vintage competition programs begin its season with American Endurance Racing at Road Atlanta February 13-16<\/span><sup>th<\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0followed by the opening SVRA event at Sebring International Raceway February 27-March 1<\/span><sup>st<\/sup><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mooresville, N.C.
