1 June 2020<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 As the inaugural Ricmotech iRacing Global Mazda MX-5 Cup races to a championship conclusion on Tuesday night (June 2), the next chapter of the MX-5 Cup eSeries will feature an international schedule of events staged on some of the most famous race tracks in the world.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

While the Ricmotech iRacing Global Mazda MX-5 Cup featured tracks that are on the 2020 Battery Tender\u00ae Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires\u00ae schedule, the new Ricmotech Global Mazda MX-5 Super Series will consist of six rounds that the real life series has never visited before.<\/p>\n

With close battles through the field and tight packs fighting for the lead, the Ricmotech iRacing Global Mazda MX-5 Cup has proven to deliver remarkably similar events on iRacing as those that fans have come to know in the real world. The move to the international calendar should see that close racing, just like in the real world, continue to be in the drivers hands with a field of identically set up Global MX-5 Cup machines.<\/p>\n

Mazda is a car brand that celebrates driving and has always built cars for people who love to drive.\u00a0 Around the world there are iconic tracks that have over time earned a reputation as great drivers tracks, places where driving talent makes the different and so it is important to Mazda to continue that celebration of driving by using the freedom offered by iRacing to now offer our loyal Mazda MX-5 Cup community the chance to test themselves, virtually, on these most challenging \u201cdrivers\u201d tracks.<\/p>\n

These tracks are on any racing driver\u2019s bucket list, but few will have the chance to physically race there. Thanks to the digital wizardry of iRacing, the Mazda MX-5 Super Series will bring the track to the drivers.<\/p>\n

*Qualifying will take place at the end of Sunday open practice on 6\/21\/20<\/p>\n

The series will once again be an invitational for current and former Global Mazda MX-5 Cup participants\u00a0as well as some international guest drivers. Continuing what has been successful in real life as well as with the Ricmotech iRacing Global Mazda MX-5 Cup, the races will be 40 minutes long, preceded by qualifying and practice, plus open practice time the Sunday prior to the race. The lone exception being the N\u00fcrburgring; owing to the exceptional (12.9-miles) track length, the race will be four laps with qualifying to take place the Sunday prior.<\/p>\n

The races will again be produced and streamed live\u00a0on MazdaUSA\u2019s Youtube and Facebook channels and\u00a0by ApexRacingTV beginning at 8pm ET, with fans able to catch the races on the Mazda Motorsports Facebook page as well.\u00a0Each race broadcast will be available on the Mazda USA YouTube page shortly after.<\/p>\n

Mazda has once again stepped in to offer a prize package of $1,500 for the series champion, $1000 for second place and $500 for third.\u00a0Registration opens at 8:00 AM EDT on Wednesday, June 3rd.<\/p>\n

Ten days after the MX-5 eSeries wraps up at Interlagos, the Battery Tender\u00ae Global Mazda MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires\u00ae will return to the real race track.
