The Trans Am Series presented by Pirelli West Coast Championship round scheduled for September 4-6 at Portland International Raceway has been rescheduled to take place during the Laguna Seca season finale December 4-6, creating the first double-header event of the season for the West Coast Championship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The series will continue its amended 2020 calendar at Sonoma Raceway October 9-11 followed by Circuit of The Americas November 6-8.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“Trans Am, which has a long history at Portland, will look forward to returning in 2021,\u201d said The Trans Am Racing Company President John Clagett. \u201cAdding a double-header to the season finale will make for an interesting close to the West Coast Championship. I appreciate our paddock being flexible in these challenging times, and we are happy to be able to integrate that race into another time in our schedule as everyone loves the Monterey weekends.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Trans Am West Coast Championship wrapped up Round 2 at Sonoma Raceway last weekend. With a race pace that saw him nearly lap the entire field in his signature white and metallic blue No. 6 Pickett Racing Ford Mustang, Pickett claimed the checkered flag 1:36.995-seconds ahead of second-place overall finisher Simon Gregg. The dominant victory marked Pickett\u2019s fifth Trans Am win at Sonoma since 1978. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Pickett leads the championship campaign in the TA class with Gregg (XGT), Matthew Butson (TA2 \u00ae), Carl Rydquist (SGT) and Joe Bogetich (GT) topping the standings in their respective classes in the West Coast. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Trans Am national championship returns to action at Virginia International Raceway for two 100-mile races September 24-27. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
