In the space of two IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge events,\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Rebel<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Rock<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Racing<\/span>\u00a0experienced the full spectrum.<\/p>\n<p>The team took a convincing victory at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta two weeks ago with the No. 71 Urban Grid Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R, but then suffered an event-ending crash at Mid-Ohio.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"il\">Rebel<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Rock<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"il\">Racing<\/span>\u00a0drivers Frank Depew and Robin Liddell were looking forward to the Mid-Ohio event weekend, which was slated as a double-header with two rounds of\u00a0<span class=\"il\">racing<\/span>. In the opening practice session, Depew took to the track as the team looked to build towards a strong qualifying session on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignleft\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci4.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/ozAZ02EdXX-tK9mbweQYH93uAO4qnFEqiYspQ3CQ9x8PKZcl9ADUM9sn0OtCoA7gmpp9kLBfYsOVZRlR-aPP9JIeqLmLhcBPxbaVZr7Ouee_smFdZXhbnX4iqvriSqq2mLiDcciBIOH90_h2n0TlLEFJWAihPw=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/a0ac04cc-4c1e-48b1-8e15-cd7df6a1d672.jpg\" width=\"350\" height=\"233\" align=\"left\" \/>But the outing ended early as Depew suffered an off course excursion that saw the Camaro make significant contact with a concrete barrier. The team hustled to turn the car around to make repairs to be prepared for the next session, but the damage was too significant and the team was forced to withdraw from the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnfortunately the structure of the car was compromised in the accident this morning and this is simply not a repair that can be safely or effectively made at the racetrack, so we have no option other than to withdraw from the event,\u201d said Liddell. \u201cThis is clearly very disappointing, but the main thing is Frank (Depew) is unhurt. We are a strong team and we will bounce back.
