(1 November 2020) \u2013 Taylor Hagler\u00a0and teammate Ryan Eversley finished fourth\u00a0in the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca 120 on Saturday. Hagler battled through early adversity in the No. 77 L.A. Honda World Racing Honda Civic Type R TCR\u00a0during\u00a0the penultimate round of the 2020 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season.<\/p>\n<p>The condensed two-day schedule saw qualifying slated early\u00a0on\u00a0Saturday morning.\u00a0Qualifying for the seventh time this year,\u00a0Hagler\u00a0placed the No. 77\u00a0Honda Civic\u00a0on the fourth row in seventh\u00a0for the two-hour showdown.<\/p>\n<p>Hagler took the green flag\u00a0which marked\u00a0her first race start at the 11-turn course. Keeping her eyes locked on the TCR field ahead,\u00a0Hagler\u00a0kept the No. 77\u00a0Honda Civic\u00a0clean as\u00a0she\u00a0navigated through a multi-car incident\u00a0on the exit of turn one\u00a0on the opening lap,\u00a0which\u00a0brought out the\u00a0first of three cautions during the race.\u00a0 Taylor was penalized for passing under yellow in the melee and would be required to serve a drive through penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Only going back to green for five laps, a\u00a0second full course caution on Lap 10 helped the\u00a0team\u2019s\u00a0pit stop strategy\u00a0which allowed Hagler to once again make a second stop for fuel.\u00a0Hagler\u2019s progress was\u00a0temporarily slowed shortly after returning back on track after she received a pit lane infraction and was sent back into pit lane for a\u00a0stop plus 60-seconds.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignright\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci5.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/rQPdK9hpY8_-OHPGOlygPqS9D2yoyDFHIyqLAWCjJO8b1cYui5fVz3HKfx1km-5S2mRsMjd4m-TEB3EdWwKtcjTnYi_69E3sT5Bsyz2hG0ADeZ8MZi9QZ4AcSq3FKAgqEtBllnfsiZRyZOCIFduAZTHkUR9Mmg=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/8245d134-18ad-47b0-b223-2ddd77bcfaf3.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>Back out on track in sixth place, Hagler set her focus on regaining ground with one hour, 30-minutes left in the race.\u00a0\u00a0A timely\u00a0third\u00a0full course caution once again\u00a0packed\u00a0up the TCR field\u00a0which allowed Hagler to restart from the lead lap.<\/p>\n<p>Taking the restart from sixth, Hagler charged through the TCR field to reach as high as third as pit stops started occurring throughout the field. The Honda development\u00a0driver worked to set\u00a0her\u00a0personal best\u00a0lap of the race\u00a0&#8211; 1:36.837-seconds\u00a0on Lap 26.<\/p>\n<p>Completing a\u00a0one\u00a0hour\u00a0and\u00a0six-minute stint, Hagler handed over the No. 77\u00a0Honda Civic\u00a0to teammate\u00a0Eversley for the remainder of the race. With an open track and green flag conditions, Eversley settled into fourth through the checkered flag.\u00a0The fourth-place finish marked Hagler and Eversley\u2019s\u00a0fourth consecutive top-five finish of the\u00a0IMSA\u00a0season.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignleft\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci4.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/xsItoImNUMVZSdo8Qgj9Lxb8ITruGGAKWi5j4Cwy8zOpWf5UuGXDwyA5jBmD44KeLnFz6TyMroT7WVYDaFL_P5-x2Yvkw6B1WhZo0iQcWHfMussZJDULkmktOp97kkJ1w1GtMEUgJnz5Sfhu_DUfVqNEfDkMjg=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/94552bca-f961-438d-b369-d25baa875b25.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/>\u201cWe had a good weekend at Laguna Seca, and it was cool to race at another historic track that my dad and I visited as fans,\u201d said Hagler. \u201cWith Ryan\u2019s help, I was able to improve every session and we felt like we had a really good car going into the race.\u00a0This place is really tricky because of how much the track changes during a session due to the temperatures and track conditions.\u00a0There was a lot going on during my stint with the yellows and a few odd penalties, and it felt like we only got five or six green laps of running before turning the car over to Ryan.\u00a0 We just didn\u2019t have enough in the car to get on the podium this time, but I know the L.A. Honda World Racing team will have us in a good spot at Sebring.\u00a0We will take another top four finish and look forward to the last IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge round in two weeks!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Hagler will conclude her IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge season at Sebring International Raceway for the\u00a0Alan Jay Automotive Network 120\u00a0on Friday, November 13th\u00a0at 12PM ET.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monterey, Calif.
