{"id":2815,"date":"2020-12-02T18:09:01","date_gmt":"2020-12-02T18:09:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/?p=2815"},"modified":"2020-12-02T18:09:01","modified_gmt":"2020-12-02T18:09:01","slug":"juan-pablo-montoya-joins-meyer-shank-racing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/index.php\/2020\/12\/02\/juan-pablo-montoya-joins-meyer-shank-racing\/","title":{"rendered":"Juan Pablo Montoya Joins Meyer Shank Racing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>Multi-time Rolex 24 winner set for run IMSA Michelin\u00a0Endurance Cup with MSR<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Pataskala, Ohio (2 December 2020) &#8211; Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) has finalized its 2021 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship lineup and is pleased to announce that Juan Pablo Montoya has signed with the team to compete in the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup rounds in the No. 60 MSR Acura ARX-05 Prototype.<\/p>\n<p>Montoya joins full-season drivers Olivier Pla and Dane Cameron with 2012 Rolex 24 winner AJ Allmendinger returning to the team for his 15th Rolex 24 with MSR.<\/p>\n<p>Having been part of the development of the Acura ARX-05 prior to its 2018 debut, Montoya brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the Prototype platform to MSR.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m really excited to be joining Meyer Shank Racing next year,\u201d said Montoya. \u201cI\u2019ve always seen Mike (Shank) around the track and we had a really simple, straight forward conversation to get this deal put together for next year.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In addition to his speed and experience,\u00a0Montoya also brings some added chemistry to the team as he rejoins his former co-driver, Cameron, onboard the\u00a0Acura ARX-05. Having raced\u00a0the last three races seasons together,\u00a0Montoya and Cameron have collected three victories and nine podium finishes. The strong effort saw the pair claim the 2019 IMSA Team, Driver and Manufacturer championships.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDane and I have a really great relationship that has also turned into a friendship,\u201d continued Montoya. \u201cWe both really understand each other and know what we need from each other to be competitive. I\u2019m looking forward to continuing the relationship with him. I\u2019m also looking forward to driving with Olivier and AJ.
