{"id":3223,"date":"2021-05-15T18:22:46","date_gmt":"2021-05-15T18:22:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/?p=3223"},"modified":"2021-05-16T18:23:27","modified_gmt":"2021-05-16T18:23:27","slug":"cameron-qualifies-msr-acura-third-in-mid-ohio","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/index.php\/2021\/05\/15\/cameron-qualifies-msr-acura-third-in-mid-ohio\/","title":{"rendered":"Cameron Qualifies MSR Acura Third in Mid-Ohio"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mansfield, Ohio (15 May 2021) &#8211; Dane Cameron put the Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) No. 60 SiriusXM \/ AutoNation Acura ARX-05\u00a0third on the grid for Sunday\u2019s Acura Sports Car Challenge at Mid-Ohio (2:30pm ET, NBCSN).<\/p>\n<p>A fiercely fought qualifying battle saw Cameron post a 1:10.355-second lap during a highly competitive qualifying session.<\/p>\n<p>After his 1:10.766-second lap in Practice two saw Cameron and teammate Olivier Pla top the charts on Saturday morning, the Acura driver was confident in the DPi that MSR had prepared for qualifying.<\/p>\n<p>As qualifying commenced, the six car DPi field began setting laps times that topped any from the weekend so far. Working the Michelin tires into the operating window, Cameron posted his fastest time on lap eight of 1:10.355-seconds to place third in the running order.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignleft\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci4.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/dRrGqOQraIlKH-TLBfkA27X5Eq8D0n9VbTT-rE-9Gh5VO5rMEVS5AeJm7zCsrjPsB0qRZKrJSx6ovqlRG4csHt3yJwLNrMSaA6W2Ff3tT2MxC_UJrYDoAcq8I0kfft2eZbDqD0XizRGwO1zTPr2ZGNHq_Vto7Q=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/178cea82-1492-fce5-a85d-8caf07437e27.jpg\" width=\"325\" height=\"216\" align=\"left\" \/>Although hoping to lead the field to the green flag on Sunday, Cameron and Meyer Shank Racing are confident in the Acura\u2019s race pace &#8211; and it\u2019s a boost of confidence that Cameron\u2019s 2019 win with Acura also saw him start from third.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe qualified P3 here at Mid-Ohio and it\u2019s a little bit disappointing considering the pace that we had this morning in practice,\u201d said Cameron. \u201cWe\u2019ll make a few changes to the No. 60 Acura to get some more out of it and so that we can give it our best shot. I think the last time that I won here it was from third.
