{"id":3353,"date":"2021-06-28T20:22:22","date_gmt":"2021-06-28T20:22:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/?p=3353"},"modified":"2021-06-28T20:22:22","modified_gmt":"2021-06-28T20:22:22","slug":"jak-crawford-returns-to-red-bull-ring-for-third-round-of-f3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/index.php\/2021\/06\/28\/jak-crawford-returns-to-red-bull-ring-for-third-round-of-f3\/","title":{"rendered":"Jak Crawford Returns to Red Bull Ring for Third Round of F3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignright\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/rPhwvFlYCUNsGD38knwpwSlWFvXZ0SD2-KzLLf5FUVqTIAsi7-FrfL33audag2nM08m8tbeBMtMc3B92fLqid52dm7AaB23oYOsqPl2LoVd_XIubNT5P8s-8iG39jJEk5P0F5GN6k2VzictEVPkYM8mCH-dTmKGNUpLb7g=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/_compresseds\/64127b84-eb85-4578-7005-ef7e1aeb21ae.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" align=\"right\" \/><strong>SPIELBERG, Austria (28\u00a0June 2021)<\/strong> \u2013 Jak Crawford will be happy to return to familiar territory this weekend for the third event of the 2021 FIA F3 campaign, with the triple-header race weekend set to be staged at the Red Bull Ring as part of the FIA Formula 1 event.<\/p>\n<p>The 16-year-old Houston, Texas racer will drive for Hitech Grand Prix in a trio of 40-minute races, with two on Saturday and one on Sunday prior to the Formula 1 Grand Prix.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve done tons of days testing at the Red Bull Ring,\u201d said Crawford, who is eager to bring his Red Bull-liveried Hitech entry a big result. \u201cI know the track very well, and I\u2019m looking forward to it very much.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A major priority for Hitech Grand Prix for the weekend will be Friday\u2019s qualifying session at 7:50 a.m. (all times ET).<\/p>\n<p>With the structure of the three-race F3 event weekends utilizing one qualifying session, tire strategy and time on track can be critical to the outcome of the entire weekend.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignleft\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci5.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/PnpDFmDOIODa1hBiLr38dIAW3HoihvM6AJWjHM8_lA_1vnxK8fDCca9wvTDg956rEwJrFLSIzt5MU8c1pMxqdTUiJxw3w-CAbkbF1eDXndOJHBky4__v1Jfdy75cz93h2heUSdK-jvPSS5uJ8csvkhgKAaH4LLDZh3nhJw=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/_compresseds\/0b94bdf6-f267-899e-e50d-170cf6926a60.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" align=\"left\" \/>The session sets the grid for the Sunday race. The top 12 qualifiers are inverted for the opening round, with the top 12 finishers in that event inverted for race two. This year, Crawford was among the leaders in the opening two-thirds of the qualifying session on both weekends, but fell out of the top 12 in the closing minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve had good pace,\u201d said Crawford, who has two Euroformula Open wins thus far in 2021. \u201cIt\u2019s just been unfortunate about our qualifying in FIA F3 so hopefully we can get a better start to the weekend at the Red Bull Ring.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Saturday\u2019s opening race will be at 4:35 a.m., followed by the second event at 11:30 a.m. Sunday\u2019s finale gets underway at 4:15 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Crawford will be back in action the following weekend, running in the Euroformula Open on July 9-11 at the Hungaroring in Hungary.
