{"id":3775,"date":"2021-10-02T23:43:07","date_gmt":"2021-10-03T03:43:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/?p=3775"},"modified":"2023-05-04T12:54:24","modified_gmt":"2023-05-04T16:54:24","slug":"hagler-second-in-thrilling-sebring-opener","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/index.php\/2021\/10\/02\/hagler-second-in-thrilling-sebring-opener\/","title":{"rendered":"Hagler Second in Thrilling Sebring Opener"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>SEBRING, FL (Oct. 2, 2021)<\/strong> \u2013 Taylor Hagler and co-driver Dakota Dickerson finished a thrilling second in the Pro-Am class at Saturday\u2019s opening\u00a0Fanatec\u00a0World Challenge America powered by AWS race at Sebring International Raceway, the final doubleheader weekend of the season.<\/p>\n<p>A charge to the top of the running order was in order after\u00a0Hagler and the\u00a0No. 93 Racers Edge Motorsports Acura NSX GT3 were slotted\u00a0in\u00a0the eighth starting spot.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignright\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci3.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/aghiU9pqH8SK12IX5Gk_Bgum811fbGMxcmEDffqDOJELrB2IXvuxKlEo7eCH2rSPhaECIu1yHhszVPL5nB3FYF5Sb_3LlqmXk1sDpE5dBVNWxR_43dyRJad6HL4X-q9_gbLPbRNPEBCy0NuD8l0ajTzr0yUKew=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/c01fbe02-29e8-3b73-47df-448eb104c67a.jpg\" width=\"375\" height=\"250\" align=\"right\" \/>The opening green flag shuffle saw Hagler begin another thrilling drive through the field\u00a0similar to\u00a0her recent races. By lap 12, she was fifth overall and second in class, 5.5-seconds behind the leader. When she made her mandatory pit stop eight laps later, she was just 1.483-seconds out of the lead.<\/p>\n<p>Dickerson took over in fourth overall and second in class, 2.152-seconds in arrears. He caught veteran leader Jan\u00a0Heylen\u00a0with 15 laps remaining and closed to within one second. Over the final 10 minutes, the cars running second, third and fourth overall were nose-to-tail.<\/p>\n<p>Running fourth, Dickerson\u00a0made repeated moves\u00a0on\u00a0Heylen. With two laps left, he charged alongside the second-place car in the\u00a0hairpin, but\u00a0could not make the turn due to contact and fell back in line.
