This will be the final weekend of the third GT Open season, which features a two-race schedule at each event.<\/p>\n<p>The 57-year-old Brazilian raced a Ferrari for AF Corse earlier this season in Asian Le Mans competition. He drove a similar Ferrari in the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans for Luzich Racing, finishing seventh in GTE Am in his second start in the world\u2019s most prestigious sports car race.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignright\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci5.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/_oL8axcm9w_4vHuEdyXk5oEwozK0nTnovlqJWqUyWOt-mIg0ggqTZ26bSIGCHBbbJGWiLCgxDtRptn1m0ssK9fO55kZpXj8F7FCLhzdWu-SGbp0QvZkn9rz6zhA6d1u_lsAewzRM0ewZoesZt2IJQ6_GpqF7Ww=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/cdab5b59-f6a5-2b90-6e52-416c64ca2cae.jpg\" width=\"275\" height=\"182\" align=\"right\" \/>Negri raced in the premier class of North America\u2019s top sports car series from 2003 through 2018, mostly for Meyer Shank Racing. He won the 50th edition of the Rolex 24 At Daytona for Shank in a Daytona Prototype. He also won the 2016 Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta in a Ligier JS P2 LMP2, his final race in a Prototype. For 2017, he joined Meyer Shank in its move to the GTD ranks, racing an Acura NSX GT3. We had some testing last week and he\u2019s very focused, so I\u2019m looking forward to the weekend. Racing with AF Corse gives a driver so much confidence, and we are eager to see what the GT Open events are like with the double-header. There are a lot of very good teams and drivers in the mix so it will be a good challenge for us to take on.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Prior to racing sports cars, Negri competed in Indy Lights plus British and Mexican Formula 3.
