Looks to build on previous podiums in SRO and IMSA competition\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Sebring, Fla. (14\u00a0March 2022) –<\/strong>Taylor\u00a0Hagler\u2019s 2022 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge campaign continues this week as she heads to Sebring International Raceway for the Alan Jay Automotive Network 120 on Thursday, March 17th.<\/p>\n

Hagler\u00a0and teammate Michael Lewis will pilot the No. 1 Hyundai Elantra N TCR on the bumpy and\u00a0iconic circuit for the first time, having moved to the Elantra platform ahead of the season-opening Daytona round in January.<\/p>\n

Hagler\u00a0and Lewis have combined at Sebring, previously teaming up to take third in the 2021 edition of the event on their title-winning run. \u00a0Hagler\u00a0is no stranger to strong performances at the former air base in Central Florida, having finished on the podium in three of her four previous Sebring starts.<\/p>\n

In 2021,\u00a0Hagler\u00a0doubled up her podium presence, winning the Pro\/Am class in the Fanatec GT World Challenge America powered by AWS at Sebring as well as netting a runner-up result in the penultimate race of the SRO season.<\/p>\n

The Sebring round will see the GS and TCR class competitors do battle as part of the huge Sebring event weekend, which will also feature IMSA WeatherTech as well as FIA World Endurance Championship events for the hugely popular central Florida event.
\nThe Hyundai driver is confident heading into the race weekend as she and Lewis look to build on their run to second place in the Daytona International Speedway season-opener.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had a great run at Daytona and I\u2019m pretty excited about getting back to Sebring with the Elantra,\u201d said\u00a0Hagler, who excelled in equine competition before moving to race cars three years ago. \u201cIt is a big event and the track is one that I\u2019ve had some success on, so that always adds some confidence. Our test a few weeks back was also really productive and Michael and I both like how the team has continued to develop this Elantra.\u201d<\/p>\n

Beyond the commitment to the race program, Hyundai has also shown leadership with the IMSA program, most recently staging the Hyundai Driver Camp in Indianapolis. The program focused on driver development and fitness, team building, and also provided a chance to catch up with the team away from the track for a couple of days.<\/p>\n

\u201cWith the Hyundai Driver Camp, I got to spend time with the team after our test, so even though it feels like it has been a long time since we raced, I am hoping we can pick up right where we left off in Daytona,\u201d said\u00a0Hagler.<\/p>\n
