Cosmo and Cagnazzi will share the No. 39 Presidio Mercedes-AMG GT4 fielded by Steve Cameron Racing in a pair of one-hour SRO GT4 America races, while Cagnazzi will also run a pair of 40-minute SRO GT America powered by AWS events.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_4551\" style=\"width: 160px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-4551\" src=\"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/unnamed-3-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-4551\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Chris Green\u00a0<\/p><\/div>\u201cI\u2019m excited about going to VIR, and it will be nice to get back into action after a long break,\u201d said Cosmo, who last competed in the series at Sonoma in April. \u201cUnfortunately, we haven\u2019t had the opportunity to test but hopefully we can make progress through the weekend.\u201d\u00a0Eliminated in an early-race incident in the first race of the Sonoma weekend, Cosmo and Cagnazzi came back to place fourth in the competitive Pro-Am class in the Sunday event.\u00a0Now, the pair are looking forward to being in podium contention on the historic Virginia layout.\u00a0\u201cVIR is one of my favorite tracks,\u201d said Cosmo, who won in his second Michelin Pilot Challenge (then Grand-Am Cup) race in 2003. \u201cIt\u2019s a place that really offers some great racing, so it\u2019s going to be an exciting weekend. I\u2019m ready to get back in action.\u201d\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/unnamed-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/>\u201cOne of the very first races I did in Grand-Am was at VIR, and I won with Mark Plummer with BGB Motorsports,\u201d Cosmo said. \u201cI also had success there in Daytona Prototypes with Finlay Motorsports and (Daytona 500 winner) Michael McDowell, along with a few podiums in ALMS competition.\u201d\u00a0Cagnazzi is looking forward to racing at VIR, coming off a very successful second day of action at Sonoma.\u00a0\u201cChris loves VIR \u2013 it\u2019s a track he really enjoys \u2013 and we should have a good time there,\u201d Cosmo said. \u201cHe raced there in Ferrari Challenge, and we ran together there last year in SRO, which was basically a learning experience.\u201d\u00a0After starting at the back of the pack for the opening GT American race of the Sonoma weekend, Cagnazzi worked his way back to finish ninth in class and 16th overall. He had better luck on Sunday, starting on the pole and finishing second.\u00a0GT4 America qualifying will be held on Saturday at 10:40 a.m. (all times ET), with Race 1 at 4:05 p.m. Saturday and Race 2 at 10:55 a.m. on Sunday.
