Teammate, Oliver Jarvis &#8211; who held the previous Canadian Tire Motorsport Park track record &#8211; will join Blomqvist in Sunday\u2019s two hour, 40-minute event.<\/p>\n<p>Winning the pole also gives MSR three extra points, cutting the championship lead to just 14 points.<\/p>\n<p>While several competitors took to the track at the start of the 15-minute session, MSR bided its time, turning Blomqvist loose midway through the session. Blomqvist moved up to second on his second lap at speed, and then put in a \u201cvery, very brave\u201d lap to take the pole with 4:15 remaining.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/images\/a21e6897-2b07-67e6-c87e-b62bcc3c3376.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" data-file-id=\"43903\" \/>\u201cWow, I gave it absolutely everything I had out there,\u201d said Blomqvist with a smile on his face. \u201cI wasn\u2019t sure I was going to survive the session and there were definitely a few hairy moments out there. I had to just close my eyes and be very, very brave. Our Acura has been really fast especially in the last sector. The entire team has given us a really fast package and it\u2019s showing with our results. We\u2019ve made such great improvements from the start of the season, so we\u2019re really getting into a nice groove. We\u2019ll have to make a few adjustments for the race tomorrow, but I know we have a fast racecar.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s two-hour, 40-minute race is set to start at 3:05 p.m. ET on Sunday.
