\"\"ELKHART LAKE, Wis. (1 August 2022)<\/strong> \u2013 Coming off an impressive victory at Lime Rock Park, Rebel Rock Racing has history on its side when it returns to Elkhart Lake for Saturday\u2019s Road America 240, Round 8 of the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge.<\/p>\n

Frank DePew and Robin Liddell will co-drive the No. 71 Urban Grid Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R in the four-hour race on the historic 4.048-mile circuit in the scenic Kettle Moraine.<\/p>\n

Three years ago, Rebel Rock followed up its first victory in the series with an incredible last-lap triumph at Road America. Fresh from winning at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, the team worked its way up into contention and Liddel found himself running fourth coming to Canada Corner on the final lap, only a short sprint from the finish. Liddell passed two cars with a brave three-wide pass in Canada Corner, then caught the leader 20 yards from the checkered flag. His margin of victory was 0.070 seconds, the fourth-closest finish in series history at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWinning always gives you a shot in the arm, and we\u2019re excited,\u201d Liddell said. \u201cRoad America was very disappointing last year, not starting due to problems with the chassis. We\u2019re very happy to be going back, and I think having a four-hour race will be quite fun. I think that length plays to the team\u2019s strengths.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, the team opted to sit out this event, to rebuild its cars for a strong finish to the season. The team had a promising run at the circuit cut short in 2020 due to overheating issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s unfortunate that we couldn\u2019t get there last year, given the previous damage to the car and trying to prepare a new chassis,\u201d DePew said. \u201cI\u2019m excited, and looking forward to getting back at it. I really like the track, and I think we\u2019ve got a decent shot at doing well there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unlike the bulk of the schedules two-hour races, the season-opener at Daytona and this weekend are the lone four-hour events for the series.<\/p>\n

\"\"\u201cIt\u2019s a four-hour race, so we have to be patient,\u201d DePew said. \u201cI\u2019m prepared to spend close to two hours in the car, so I have to keep it clean \u2013 race hard, but carefully \u2013 then give it to Robin and see where we\u2019re at. I\u2019ve only been there a few times, but we have also tested there in the past. I really enjoy the track \u2013 it\u2019s got a little bit of everything.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Lime Rock victory also boosted the team to fourth in the GS standings with three races remaining, with back-to-back fourth-place finishes at Watkins Glen and Mosport coming before Lime Rock.<\/p>\n

Qualifying begins at 8:20 a.m. (all times CT) on Saturday, followed by the race at 1:15 p.m.<\/p>\n

After this weekend, only two races remain on the 2022 schedule \u2013 Virginia International Raceway on August 27 and Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta on Sept. 30.<\/p>\n
