BOWMANVILLE, ONT Canada (29\u00a0June 2022)<\/strong> \u2013 Rebel Rock Racing has both history and momentum on its side when it returns to action in Saturday\u2019s Canadian Tire Motorsport Park 120 (4:10pm ET, Peacock).<\/p>\n

Frank DePew and Robin Liddell will drive the No.\u00a071 Urban Grid Chevrolet Camaro GT4.R. They are riding the wave of back-to-back top-10 finishes in IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge competition, including a 26th-to-fourth recovery from an early incident last weekend at Watkins Glen International.<\/p>\n

The last time IMSA raced at the track formerly known as Mosport was in 2019, when DePew and Liddell scored the team\u2019s first victory in its first full season of competition. That race followed a fifth-place finish at Watkins Glen, which was the team\u2019s first top-20 result of the campaign.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re really looking forward to returning to Mosport,\u201d said DePew. \u201cIt\u2019s been three years since we\u2019ve been there. Our 2019 race was my first race at the track, and Robin had an amazing run through the field and we managed to pull out a win. I\u2019m looking forward to seeing what it will bring for us this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rebel Rock came to the recent race at The Glen on the heels of a ninth-place finish at Mid-Ohio, its first top-10 in a year that included two 15th-place results. DePew cut a tire in Turn 1 early in the Tioga Downs 120, sending him to the pits and returning to the race in 26th position \u2013 but still on the lead lap. A series of cautions worked in the team\u2019s favor, with Liddell charging from 11th to fourth over the final 30 minutes.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a shame we didn\u2019t finish on the podium at Watkins Glen, but considering all the circumstances, fourth was quite an accomplishment and I\u2019m quite happy with the result,\u201d Liddell said. \u201cNow it\u2019s on to Mosport with the car in one piece. The car has performed well there in the past. It\u2019s a lower-grip track, but the Camaro is well balanced in the high-speed corners. We\u2019ve got a great engineer, great mechanics and a great team.<\/p>\n

\u201cQuite honestly from what I saw out there at Watkins Glen, we \u2013 as a package\u2014should be competitive. I\u2019m hopeful that when we get to Mosport and the following race at Lime Rock, we\u2019ve got two good shots to get up front and get on the podium \u2013 or maybe even sneak a win.\u201d<\/p>\n

Practice for the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park 120 begins on Friday, followed by GS qualifying at 5:30 p.m. (all times ET). The two-hour race takes the green flag at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday.<\/p>\n
