WATKINS GLEN, NY (25 June 2022)<\/strong> \u2013 Irish Mike\u2019s Racing saw both drivers improve on their finishing positions in Round 4 of the IMSA Porsche Carrera Cup North America presented by Visit Cayman Islands at Watkins Glen International on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Conor Flynn finished 13th in the Pro category in Saturday\u2019s 40-minute race, after placing 14th in class on Friday driving the No. 95 FlynnCo Cars \/ Chillout Systems Porsche 992. Teammate Craig Conway took ninth in Saturday\u2019s event in Pro-Am, after taking 12th on Friday in the No. 97 Diamond Suzuki Porsche.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re still learning this car and figuring out the speed, so at this point we\u2019re using every race as a test session for next year,\u201d Flynn said. \u201cToday I had a great race with the gentleman in the pink Red Bull car (Moisey Uretsky) and then Matt Halcome, whom I raced throughout the latter part of last season. I managed to get the pink car, outbraking him with a clean pass in Turn 1 [with two minutes remaining]. Then I couldn\u2019t get by Matt \u2013 I wasn\u2019t going to dive bomb him or do something to put both of us in jeopardy. We\u2019ll get him next time. It was great event for us. We learned a ton, and the cars are now handling extremely well.\u201d<\/p>\n

Flynn gained a position during the final minute of Friday\u2019s opening race, advancing to 18th overall and 14th in the lead Pro category.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was one of the lucky ones, coming through race one without any damage,\u201d Flynn said. \u201cI had a front row seat for the big accident on lap one, and managed to miss it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conway was pleased with the progress both he and the team made over the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery race at the moment is a learning experience for us,\u201d Conway said. \u201cThe Porsche 992 is a totally different animal than the 991. We just try to make progress every time we go out, and that\u2019s what we did here at The Glen. We did a little test here recently, and we\u2019ve kept inching forward. Yesterday we were pretty much at the back. Today we were not at the back, and the lap times kept going down \u2013 four seconds a lap faster than yesterday. I\u2019m pleased that we continue to make progress. It\u2019s going to take work, but we\u2019re going to get there.\u201d<\/p>\n
