LAKEVILLE, Conn. (24 May 2022)<\/strong>\u2013 A thundering Lime Rock Park tradition will add an exciting new chapter this weekend as the track hosts the Trans Am Memorial Day Classic (May 27-30).<\/p>\n

There will be something for everyone, as the four-day event will feature Trans Am presented by Pirelli races on Saturday and Monday, a new Craft Beer Grand Prix as well as a pair of car shows on Sunday, Skip Barber Racing reunion races on Monday, as well as a field of rolling racing history with the Sportscar Vintage Race Association (SVRA).<\/p>\n

The Trans Am runners will take to the same 1.53-mile circuit that Dan Gurney, Sam Posey, and Parnelli Jones claimed their stake to Lime Rock Park history in decades past, as a new field of emerging talents looks to do the same in the rapidly growing Trans Am series.<\/p>\n

With competition that will see both modern and vintage race cars take to the track, and several off-track entertainment options should make for a\u00a0 non-stop fan experience at the fast and tricky New England circuit.\u00a0(Tickets Available)<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Trans Am Championship Heats up at Lime Rock Park, Fan Walks return<\/strong><\/p>\n

The roar of American muscle cars will rattle the ground as a record-breaking field of nearly 40 TA2 drivers takes the green on the original Lime Rock circuit Saturday at 11:55 a.m. ET for 100-miles of Trans Am competition.<\/p>\n

Drivers like two-time champions Rafa Matos and Cameron Lawrence, 2020 TA2 Champion Mike Skeen and 2019 Lime Rock winner Thomas Merrill will go wheel-to-wheel in a mix of Mustangs, Camaros and Challengers all fighting to be the first to the checkered. With drivers like Adam Andretti, nephew of Mario Andretti, and Dylan Archer, son of former Trans Am driver Bobby Archer, mixed into the lineup, Saturday\u2019s race will surely be a spectacle for fans.<\/p>\n

The intense Trans Am action continues Monday at 11:55 a.m. when the TA, XtremeGT, SuperGT and GT classes fight to throw local favorite Chris Dyson off his consecutive Lime Rock winning streak.<\/p>\n

With years of turning laps at Lime Rock with his dad Rob Dyson, Chris is undefeated at Lime Rock Park in Trans Am, taking commanding\u00a0victories in 2019 and 2021.<\/p>\n

Fans will be able to meet their favorite Trans Am drivers during the Fan Walk (located on the false grid) on Saturday (11:10 a.m. ET) and Monday (11:20 a.m. ET) ahead of the races. Fans are encouraged to stop by the Trans Am trailer ahead of the Fan Walk for a free event poster.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Sunday Debut for Connecticut Craft Beer Grand Prix, Two Car Shows<\/strong><\/p>\n

New to the weekend schedule this year is the Connecticut Craft Beer Grand Prix. Accompanied by the area\u2019s best food trucks, more than two dozen local breweries will showcase the outstanding quality and variety of Connecticut craft beer on the Lime Rock grounds on Sunday, May 29.<\/p>\n

Also on Sunday, fans can mingle amongst hundreds of cars that will be on display from the Royals Garage Car Show and Hagerty Cars and Caffeine as part of the Sundays at The Park event. Come for the beer, the car shows, the racing, or all three! With flexible ticket packages, fans can customize their Memorial Day experience at Lime Rock Park.<\/p>\n

Fans are encouraged to reserve tickets and camping spots ahead of the weekend. Advanced general admission tickets start at $70, with full weekend passes, Park Pavilion Passes and Semi-Private Cabana upgrades available (Monday only).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

SVRA offers Rolling History of Racing<\/strong><\/p>\n

Starting Friday, May 27, a \u201crolling history\u201d of motorsports with everything from 200-mile-per-hour IndyCars and vintage Formula 1 cars to classic Jaguars and Porsches will take the track with SVRA and International GT.<\/p>\n

Scott Borchetta is likely to earn the \u201cIron Man\u201d designation for the weekend as the founder of Big Machine Label Group is slated to compete in both the SVRA (Group 10) and Trans Am (TA2)\u00a0 races.<\/p>\n

Setting as a backdrop for the Skip Barber Racing Reunion, the SBRS Formula Race Series returns to where it all began for a pair of races on Monday, May 30.<\/p>\n
