Saturday\u2019s 250 first of four-round 2023 championship<\/em><\/div>\n

San Felipe, Mexico (29 March 2023) – Mike Marsal Racing (MMR) will start the 2023 season in San Felipe, Mexico this week as the team takes on the 36th running of the SCORE Kings Shocks San Felipe 250 presented by Baja Vida. The 250 is the first of four rounds in the 2023 SCORE World Desert Championship.<\/p>\n

The race will take place Saturday, April 1st, but the event comprises months of preparation for the MMR squad including several days of practice and pre-running this week as Marsal and his navigator Hudson Hall take on the hugely competitive Trophy Truck \u00ae Spec category. The class has one of the largest fields in the race, with 43 similarly specified trucks set to take on the season-opening event.<\/p>\n

Marsal and Hudson will once again be onboard the No. 236 Spy+ Trophy Truck entry, looking to get a strong start to the championship campaign, having raced to a promising 15th in class in the same event last year.<\/p>\n

The MMR crew looks to continue its momentum from their first full season of SCORE competition in 2022, where Marsal placed fifth in the championship for Trophy Trucks Spec class. He also claimed the Milestone Award, having finished every mile of competition in the 2022 season.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt seems like it has been a long long time since we finished the 1000 last November, so I am really eager to get back into the Spy+ truck and get back to competition,\u201d said Marsal. \u201cThe MMR guys have been working with the team at Evan Weller Racing to have everything ready to go to start the season. We learned so much running the full season last year and we\u2019ve been eager to put that all to use. The 250 is a tricky event because everyone wants to get a fast start to things but of course you have to make it to the finish so its a big balance, but we are ready to go.\u201d<\/p>\n

The week will start with qualifying on Wednesday followed by technical inspections on Thursday and Friday. The trek on the 263.50 mile course will begin at 9:00 am PT on Saturday for the spec class.\u00a0 The average time for the San Felipe 250 will take around four and half hours to complete, as the course travels around and through the town of San Felipe. There will be one full stop checkpoint at mile 165 to refuel.<\/p>\n

Qualifying and Saturday\u2019s race will be live on SCORE Live, which can be found on the SCORE website (https:\/\/scoremediahouse.com\/live-events<\/a>) or the SCORE app. The Trophy Truck Spec class will go green after 9:00 am PT on Saturday.<\/p>\n
