{"id":5888,"date":"2023-04-01T12:48:27","date_gmt":"2023-04-01T16:48:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/?p=5888"},"modified":"2023-05-10T07:34:07","modified_gmt":"2023-05-10T11:34:07","slug":"ferrari-296-fifth-for-conquest-racing-in-sro-debut-at-sonoma","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sundaymanagement.com\/index.php\/2023\/04\/01\/ferrari-296-fifth-for-conquest-racing-in-sro-debut-at-sonoma\/","title":{"rendered":"Ferrari 296 fifth for Conquest Racing in SRO debut at Sonoma"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>SONOMA, CA (1 April 2023)<\/strong> \u2013 Ferrari debuted the new Ferrari 296 GT3 in international SRO competition with a fifth-place finish in the opening round of the GT World Challenge America at Sonoma Raceway on Saturday to open the 2023 season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The first 90-minute race of the weekend saw Manny Franco and Alessandro Balzan place fifth in the lead Pro class, sharing Conquest Racing\u2019s No. 21 Ferrari 296 GT3.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Franco started the race in ninth overall and fifth in class, and gained two positions on both the race start and a restart following an early caution. That put Franco fifth overall and third in Pro, and he maintained that position up until his pit stop.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Balzan took over in fourth, and ran a steady stint,\u00a0 eventually taking fifth in the category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Trisarsi Competizione fielded the No. 33 Ferrari 296 GT3 in the Pro-Am class. Justin Wetherill started and ran as high as eighth.
