(12\u00a0June 2023) &#8211; Jr III (\u201cJunior-Three\u201d) Racing made its World Racing League (WRL) powered by Hagerty debut at Daytona International Speedway this weekend. The Charlotte-based team scored an eighth place finish in the team&#8217;s opening race with the Aston Martin Vantage GT4.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The No. 48 Safe N Lock Storage Aston Martin Vantage GT4 was driven by father-son duo Marc and Tyler Sharinn along with IMSA GTD ace Mike Skeen.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Friday saw a full day of testing and qualifying before the 14 hour endurance race on Saturday. The Jr III Racing squad qualified on the fourth row for its first WRL event.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Skeen started the race for the team on Saturday, he was able to drive the Aston Martin up to 2nd after a caution came out within five minutes of the field taking the green flag. The team rotated through drivers before a red flag paused on track action due to lightning in the area at the halfway mark in the race. Jr III Racing remained in the top 10 until a storm halted on track action once<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"CToWUd a6T alignright\" tabindex=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/ci5.googleusercontent.com\/proxy\/lVk-pMX63FwsG-rm4OVU0ewReMxiMvXH25QHwxAujaRbUnbvYYQ7pJ68m5jlfCfN7oWk2Jj41TY6hjxaHB_rM7QQVLG_SH8Xghr3O5f6xTVDkk-8AqOmZdHf2w7Eezo3PUG0r1OKvtlGBnE1Qk_aPwH4Cl7hN2YML_hcbQ=s0-d-e1-ft#https:\/\/mcusercontent.com\/a33ba08d163385b4a77fabf6c\/_compresseds\/2313cc48-2a64-32c1-a8c7-49bf66a9e013.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" align=\"right\" data-bit=\"iit\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">again with two hours and thirty minutes remaining of the 14 hour enduro. The race was called early due to the storm, leaving the Jr III Racing team finishing eighth.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cThe team had a great time this weekend,\u201d said Billy Glavin, owner of Jr III Racing. \u201cWRL is a competitive field and it was great to be a part of it. This weekend was a learning experience, it was our first time in the series and first time racing with the Aston Martin and I think it was a successful weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The Jr III Racing squad is back in action June 23-25 for the Sahlen\u2019s Six Hours of the Glen with its IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship LMP3 program.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Daytona, Fla.
