LAKEVILLE, CT (8 October 2024) \u2013 The stage is set for the ultimate test of speed and skill as the LIQUI MOLY Autocross Invitational Shootout returns to Lime Rock Park on Saturday, October 19. The top 30 drivers from this season\u2019s LIQUI MOLY Autocross Series will compete for the title of \u201cFastest of the Year\u201d on the recently repaved FCP Euro Proving Grounds. With over $10,000 in prizes and coveted bragging rights on the line, this winner-takes-all event promises high-stakes action.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The LIQUI MOLY Autocross Invitational Shootout is the pinnacle of Lime Rock Park\u2019s autocross calendar, and this year, for the first time, Lime Rock Park will open the event to spectators \u2013 entirely for FREE. Fans will not only get to witness thrilling competition with free entry into The Park but can also enter free exclusive raffles for a chance to win 2025 weekend tickets and experience Track Tapas or Autocross Lapping Day programs. Spectators can RSVP to secure their spot and enter the free raffle\u00a0here<\/a>\u00a0(must be present to win).<\/p>\n

Heading into the weekend, the standings have been tight.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Sitting on top of the Autocross leaderboard is the McMurtry Speirling. In September the pure electric, single-seater hypercar and outright record holder of the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb set the fastest time in the history of the FCP Euro Proving Grounds with an impressive 33.666-second lap.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Although two-time reigning champion Ed Bogue will not be competing this year, the field remains packed with talented drivers eager to claim the top spot. Earlier this summer, Trevor Lowe, 2023 LIQUI MOLY Autocross Invitational Shootout Vice Champion, and Steve Katz\u00a0 posted the fastest competitor times of 41.934-seconds and 42.323-seconds, respectively. These drivers, along with the rest of the top 30, are primed for a showdown on the 0.68-mile Super Circuit as they battle for the coveted \u201cFastest of the Year\u201d title and attempt to break the ultimate track record.<\/p>\n

Following a record-breaking season for entries with more than 750 drivers of all skill levels participating in 2023, Lime Rock Park organizers added an additional seven autocross dates to the calendar for 2024. The series already surpassed last year\u2019s participant record with 754 drivers turning laps on the FCP Euro Proving Grounds in 2024, with six dates ahead of the finale still left on the calendar for drivers to qualify.
