\nIndianapolis, Ind. (10 May 2025) \u2013 Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) opened its month of May by showing the benefits of a day\u2019s long battle, using late-race passes to earn the team\u2019s second dual-top 10 of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES season in today\u2019s Sonsio Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
\nMSR newcomer Marcus Armstrong\u2019s (No. 66 SiriusXM \/ Root Insurance Honda) longer fuel stints allowed him to lead laps for the fourth time in the year\u2019s five races, and used his 85 trips around the 2.439-mile, 14-turn road course inside of the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway to climb from 15th<\/sup>\u00a0on the starting grid to place seventh.
\nWhile Armstrong matched a season-high with his result, his MSR stablemate Felix Rosenqvist (No. 60 SiriusXM Honda) qualified 12th<\/sup>\u00a0and fought off the effects of a mid-race spin and made a gutty last-lap pass to take the final spot in the day\u2019s top 10. The result gives Rosenqvist his fourth top-10 result in the year\u2019s five starts and the sixth overall for the Ohio-based MSR team.
\nWith a new tire rule implemented for this Saturday\u2019s Sons Grand Prix, team\u2019s were required to use each tire compound twice, forcing teams to make three pit stops throughout the 85-lap event.
\nAs was the case last week in Alabama, Armstrong ran the longest fuel stints in the 27-car field and led six laps over two different pit cycles. Armstrong\u2019s car also utilized a strategy that saw the New-Zealander be the only driver to finish out the final two stints on the Firestone alternate tire. Pitting earlier on his third cycle to get his final set of red Firestone tires, Armstrong fought through the last laps to move into seventh place at the checkered flag.
\nThe first caution flag since the first lap of the 2025 season bunched the field up for a restart with 13 laps to go, and the MSR duo was equal to the task with Rosenqvist advancing four spots and Armstrong moving up one spot in the final 13 laps of the race.
\nFollowing today\u2019s race, the team stays in place but shifts its focus toward seeking the fastest way around the 2.5-mile Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval as practice starts for the May 25th Indianapolis 500. The 2021 Indianapolis 500 winning team will expand to three cars as MSR minority owner Helio Castroneves attempts to win his record fifth Memorial Day Classic as practice starts on Tuesday, May 13.
