GTP Endurance Cup title still up for grabs<\/strong><\/h5>\n

Indianapolis,\u00a0Ind. (Sept. 16,\u00a02025) — Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian (\u201cAcura MSR\u201d) looks to continue its late-season momentum when it returns to iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway for six hours of competition in Sunday\u2019s TireRack.com Battle on the Bricks, the penultimate round of both the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Endurance Cup.<\/p>\n

Both of the team\u2019s entries were winners in\u00a0the two of the four most recent events for the premier GTP class racing the LMDh Prototypes.<\/p>\n

So far this season Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly \u2013 who will be joined in\u00a0Indy by\u00a0driver Kakunoshin \u201cKaku\u201d Ohta – won at the Detroit Grand Prix\u00a0in the No. 93\u00a0MSR Acura ARX-6 while Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun were Sahlen\u2019s Six Hours of The Glen victors in the No. 60\u00a0Acura ARX-6.<\/p>\n

Yelloly and van der Zande enter Round 9\u00a0fourth in the GTP championship. Yelloly was the pole winner in the most recent event at Road America, where the team took P3 in its third\u00a0podium finish of the season. Yelloly’s pole was also the third in back-to-back-to-back qualifying triumphs for the No. 93 Acura.<\/p>\n

Braun and Blomqvist are currently third in the five-race IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup (IMEC), just five points behind the lead. In addition to Indy’s Battle on the Bricks, the IMEC includes the Rolex 24 At Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Sahlen\u2019s Six Hours of Watkins Glen and season-ending Motul Petit Le Mans at Road Atlanta. They enter the event sixth in the GTP points, finishing second at Daytona in addition to their Watkins Glen victory.<\/p>\n

In the 2023 edition of the IMSA Indianapolis Motor Speedway event, Blomqvist and Braun were involved in an opening lap incident after starting third, which led to a seventh-place finish for MSR.<\/p>\n

Indianapolis Motor Speedway\u00a0was the site of Meyer Shank Racing’s\u00a0biggest victory to date with\u00a0Helio Castroneves scoring\u00a0his record-tying fourth Indianapolis 500 win driving for MSR in INDYCAR competition in 2021.\u00a0The IMS\u00a0road course was also the location of MSR\u2019s first INDYCAR podium finish\u00a0in 2019, including a front-row start and laps led with driver Jack Harvey.<\/p>\n

Shank\u2019s road to IMSA and INDYCAR took off in prototype sports cars, beginning with Grand-Am\u2019s Daytona Prototypes in 2004. The team raced in three of the four IMSA prototype weekends at IMS, with a best finish of sixth in the 2014 event, with drivers John Pew and Ozz Negri. Previously, MSR ran DPs in the two Grand-Am Rolex Series rounds in 2012 and 2013, with a\u00a0best finish of seventh with Pew and Negri in 2013.<\/p>\n

Practice for the Battle on the Bricks begins with a 90-minute session on Friday at 11:15 a.m. (all times ET) and another 90-minute practice at 8:55 a.m. on Saturday.\u00a0Qualifying is slated for\u00a0Saturday afternoon and will be streamed live on Peacock starting at 3:10 p.m. The six-hour race begins at 11:40 a.m. on Sunday, with flag-to-flag streaming coverage on Peacock, and live NBC coverage the last three hours, 3:00-6:00 p.m.<\/p>\n

As always, the race can be found on SiriusXM channel 206.<\/p>\n

Following Indianapolis, only the Motul Petit Le Mans at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta (Oct. 12) remains on the 2025 WeatherTech Championship schedule.<\/p>\n

Indy is an interesting track layout that will certainly challenge us in how it races. I know the Acura will be well-suited to this track, and our boys and girls have been working extra hard on the pit stops which all has us very eager to get going!”<\/p>\n

Nick Yelloly:\u00a0<\/strong>“Looking forward to racing in Indy as it\u2019s always a special place to race and I enjoyed being a fan at the Indy 500 this year. But this six hour event\u00a0is pretty chaotic with the different class categories and lots of cars on a short, tight track. So, going to try and keep our noses clean, be patient, and wait until the last couple of hours to make some moves.
