Birmingham, Ala. (21 April 2017) – With the support of Mazda, the Battery Tender Global MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires has partnered with IMS Productions to provide live streaming of the season-opening doubleheader event at Barber Motorsports Park on Saturday, April 22nd. The Mazda-owned series is launching a new chapter in 2017 as it will be sanctioned by INDYCAR and will be a part of four Verizon IndyCar race weekend events this season.
As the best value in sports car racing, the Global MX-5 Cup series is a leader in accessible racing for drivers and teams alike, providing an affordable car that creates an unparalleled level of competition of motorsports’ up-and-coming talent. More than thirty drivers, all competing in the Mazda Road to the 24 will now be highlighted under the IndyCar umbrella, adding to the series’ continually growing exposure.
Race fans all around the world will be able to watch the action-packed Global MX-5 Cup events with the IndyCar sanctioned series providing live streaming beginning with Rounds 1 & 2 at Barber Motorsports Park. Live streaming of the Global MX-5 Cup season opener will be housed at www.mazdalive.com this Saturday, April 22 at 11:00 AM ET and 6:40 PM ET.
