Bowmanville, Ontario (6 July 2019) – Ben Waddell has joined ONE Motorsports for the fourth round of IMSA Prototype Challenge competition as the series heads north of the border  to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) this weekend.

The young American driver will compete on the high-speed course set east of Toronto in the No. 66 Invisible Glass ONE Motorsport Ligier JS P3 alongside co-drivers Mikel Miller and Patrick Lin for Saturday’s three-hour event.

Waddell is no stranger to CTMP having raced at the track in open-wheel competition with a 2017 triple-header in an open-wheel F4 car.  The new challenges of navigating the impressive race course leave Waddell eager to put in the work with ONE Motorsports.

“CTMP is a really fast track and is a blast to drive in the LMP3,” said Waddell, who got some track time during the promotor test day ahead of the weekend. “I am not sure what to expect since this will be my first outing in the prototype here and my first visit since coming here with the US F4 Championship in 2017. My expectations for the weekend are realistic. We do not have much data on the car so our main goal is to make progress with building data while letting the chips fall where they may.”

In addition to what he has done in IMSA the 23-year-old has had a productive year growing his skills including outing at Homestead Miami in a FARA endurance race event. Waddell set the fastest lap of the weekend in the Invisible Glass Prototype on the way to a second place finish. Proudly carrying the colors of Invisible Glass and Stoner Car Care, Waddell is looking to continue his rapid learning curve on board the Ligier LMP3.

“Having Invisible Glass as my main supporter and sponsor has been amazing!” said Waddell. “It is a brand that’s working to reach the young car enthusiast and I am a young up and coming driver who also loves cars in general which makes for a wonderful partnership.”

The intense racing action of the IMSA Prototype Challenge at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park will take the green flag at 4:20 PM ET on IMSA.tv with live timing and scoring at scoring.imsa.com.
