Heinricher Racing Starts Eighth in IMSA Road Race Showcase

Sheboygan, Wisc. (3 August 2019) – Taking her first official laps around Road America’s 4-mile circuit this weekend, Bia Figueiredo continued to get familiar with the track as she qualified the No. 57 Caterpillar Acura NSX GT3 of Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing on Saturday. Figueiredo brought home an eighth-place qualifying effort for Sunday’s IMSA Road Race Showcase.

Figueiredo and co-driver Katherine Legge worked hard with the team through three practice sessions to maximize the setup. Overnight adjustments on Friday found additional pace for the No. 57 Acura heading into Saturday’s qualifying run.

Figueiredo began the 15-minute qualifying run with her strongest laps of the weekend. Unfortunately, the GT-Daytona field was caught out by a red flag due to lightning in the area with just six minutes to go in the session. Unable to run another flying lap, Figueiredo will start eighth on the grid after posting a 2:06.426-second lap.

“Road America is a great track and it’s nice to be back with Heinricher Racing, Meyer Shank Racing and Katherine,” said Figueiredo. “This is a very long track so there has been a lot to learn but the team has been doing a great job to get the car set up. Unfortunately, the red flag caught us off guard and I wasn’t able to finish my fast lap. We start eighth and hopefully we can improve during the race tomorrow.”

Sunday’s IMSA Road Race Showcase will go green at 2:35pm ET with a delayed NBCSN broadcast set for 6:00pm ET. Additional coverage will be available on IMSA Radio and scoring.imsa.com.
