A second day of Indianapolis 500 practice bode well with Meyer Shank Racing and Jack Harvey with the No. 60 AutoNation / SiriusXM Honda on Thursday. With five and a half hours of open track time, the team and Harvey took a focus towards race pace after finding satisfactory qualifying pace on Wednesday.
After completing 126 total laps on Thursday, Harvey once again found himself consistently in the top five in no-tow speeds throughout the day. During the final hour of the day, Harvey posted the fastest no-tow speed of 222.123 mph.
The day concluded with Harvey 13th in the overall order with his fastest lap speed of 223.828 mph. Harvey and the team were left satisfied with the improvements made and are hoping to refine the balance to continue to move up the timing sheets ahead of Saturday’s qualifying run.
Jack Harvey, No. 60 AutoNation / SiriusXM Honda:
“Today we were trying to get our race car in a bit of a better place and we made improvements from where we were yesterday. I felt more comfortable with our times today and our no tow times were pretty quick. It’s a nice feeling to come here and be trending in a positive direction.”
The 104th running of the Indianapolis 500 will air on Sunday, August 23rd on NBC starting at 1:00pm ET.
