Sebring, Fla. (14 March 2022) – Returning to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship competition, Jr III Racing will head to the birthplace of American endurance racing at Sebring International Raceway for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Presented by Advance Auto Parts (Saturday, 10:00am ET, Peacock).

The super Sebring event weekend, which includes the World Endurance Championship’s 1000 miles of Sebring, marks the third IMSA WeatherTech outing for the team, having competed at Road America last year and also scoring a second place finish in the 2021 season-ending Petit Le Mans.

Ari Balogh, Garett Grist and Dakota Dickerson are set to combine in the No. 30 Airbnb Ligier JS P320 for Jr III Racing’s second venture into endurance racing.

The race weekend will be Dickerson’s debut in the top rung of North American endurance racing as he joins Jr III Racing for the first time.

The Twelve Hours of Sebring also marks the beginning of the 2022 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season for Jr III Racing. The LMP3 class staged a non-points race in Daytona in January, but the championship tally will start with the Sebring Twelve Hour race as Balogh, Grist and Dickerson look to get the season off on the right foot.

“Sebring is an amazing course and a place I am looking forward to competing at with Jr III Racing,” said Grist. “We know we have what it takes to not only complete an endurance race but compete for the lead. Ari (Balogh) and Dakota (Dickerson) both did remarkably well when we tested here not too long ago, so I am very excited to get out there and show what we are capable of.”

The launch of the WeatherTech effort marks another significant step for Jr III Racing, which made its IMSA debut in the 2019 season finale Prototype Challenge at Road Atlanta and scoring the Bronze cup on debut. The team, which also prepares and campaigns a wide range of machinery for clients in vintage competition, has grown the scope and depth of its IMSA program to include both WeatherTech and Prototype Challenge efforts in 2022.

On-track action for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring begins Thursday, March 17th with the marquee event on Saturday, March 19th. Live coverage of the second round of the IMSA Michelin Endurance Cup begins at 10:00am ET on Peacock. Coverage begins on USA Network at 3:30pm ET until the checkered flag.
