Meyer Shank Racing Riding Tidal Wave of Momentum into Iowa Doubleheader

Pataskala, Ohio (9 July 2025) – Through 10 races of the 2025 NTT INDYCAR SERIES campaign, Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) has put together the best season in its nine years of INDYCAR competition, setting new team standards in nearly every statistical category.

But the momentum that has both drivers solidly in the Championship top 10, will face a stern test this weekend with two races at the Iowa Speedway oval, featuring 275-lap battles Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.

MSR has seen both Felix Rosenqvist (No. 60 Sirius XM Honda) and Marcus Armstrong (No. 66 Spectrum Honda) finish within the top 10 in back-to-back races for the first time in team history, a streak extended last weekend at Mid-Ohio when Rosenqvist and Armstrong placed sixth and seventh respectively. Those finishes were the 13th and 14th of the year for MSR and their team percentage of top-10 results (14 of 21, 66.7%) is tied with Chip Ganassi Racing for the best in the series this season.

Armstrong’s finishes extended his top-10 streak to a career-best four straight races and propelled him into eighth place in the championship chase. Meanwhile, Rosenqvist’s top 10 was his second in a row and seventh of the year, entrenching him in the sixth spot of the Championship, just four points out of the top five.

Keeping things moving toward the top of the charts will require another improvement on recent tradition for MSR and its drivers as successes have been hard to come by on the fast 0.875-mile oval located in Newton, Iowa.

MSR finished seventh in its first two Iowa events in 2021 but has failed to crack the top 10 in 12 subsequent starts. There is cause for optimism as Rosenqvist set a personal and MSR best last year when he qualified fifth before being felled by a mechanical issue. The 24-year-old Armstrong made his first two starts there a year ago, finishing 10th and 19th in the doubleheader.

Things start quickly with a pair of Friday practices, followed by noon qualifying on Saturday, with the SYNK 275 starting five hours later. Teams and drivers have to sleep fast as they come right back for the Farm to Finish 275, which starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. Both races can be seen live on FOX while Saturday’s qualifying will be shown on FS1. All on-track sessions will also be broadcast live on SiriusXM Channel 218.

Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:

Felix Rosenqvist: “Iowa is kind of the peak of the season where it’s kind of testing all of us with several races in a row. We just have to keep our heads on our shoulders and execute well. It’s a tough track to race at and it’s been pretty hot in years past. Just have to get through this one and then I think the season gets a little bit easier.”

Marcus Armstrong: “Iowa is a fun little track that offers a lot of challenges. It’s certainly going to be an important weekend with double points on offer. We’re going to work hard to build on the momentum of our previous races and improve from our last oval outing at from WWTR.”
