Acura MSR on Solid Ground for IMSA’s Season-Ending Petit Le Mans

BRASELTON, GA (October 6, 2025) — Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian (“Acura MSR”) looks for a strong finish to its 2025 IMSA campaign when it travels to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta for Petit Le Mans, the final race in both the WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and Michelin Endurance Cup.

Acura is currently second — only seven points in arrears — in the all-important IMSA GTP Manufacturers’ Championship and could take the title if one of its two cars finishes ahead of the current leaders. Both of the team’s two entries have momentum on their side, each winning a recent race in the premier GTP class for the LMDh Prototypes.

Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun won the Sahlen’s Six Hours of Watkins Glen in the No. 60 MSR Acura ARX-06, in addition to taking third in the most recent race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and second in the season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona. They will be joined for the 10-hour endurance classic by six-time INDYCAR SERIES champion Scott Dixon, who is also a two-time Petit Le Mans winner.

Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly will share the No. 93 Acura ARX-06 with team newcomer Tristan Vautier. This season, the two full-season drivers won on the streets of Detroit, garnered third at Road America and Sebring, and were on pole for three races in a row.

Acura MSR won in its most recent Petit Le Mans appearance, taking top step on the podium in the 2023 event with Blomqvist, Braun and four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves. Dixon and van der Zande finished second in that race, 0.482-seconds behind. With Acura MSR not competing in IMSA last year, van der Zande and Dixon scored the overall victory for another manufacturer.

Furthermore, the Mike Shank-led team has a consistently successful history at Road Atlanta. In addition to a 2022 DPi win with drivers Blomqvist, Castroneves and Jarvis, MSR won overall in the 2016 Petit Le Mans, and finished second in GTD in the 2018 event. MSR won a six-hour race in GTD at the circuit in Covid-plagued 2020. The team dominated the overall race in 2021, only to experience damage from running over debris with 45-minutes remaining and finished sixth.

Yelloly and van der Zande enter the finale fourth in the GTP championship, with Braun and Blomqvist seventh. However, Braun and Blomqvist are second in the Michelin Endurance Cup, only three points out of the lead. The MEC embraces the classic Rolex 24 At Daytona, Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring, Sahlen’s Six Hours of Watkins Glen and Indy’s six-hour Battle on the Bricks.

Practice for Petit Le Mans begins with three 90-minute practice sessions on Thursday, beginning at 10:40 a.m., 3:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. (all times ET). Friday’s live qualifying broadcast starts at 3:15 p.m. on Peacock, with the 15-minute GTP qualifying round beginning at 4:20 p.m.

The 10-hour race takes the green flag at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday, and the opening three hours of the race will be televised on NBC, beginning at 12 noon. The entire event will be streamed live on Peacock and broadcast on SiriusXM channel 206.

Meyer Shank Racing Team Quotes:

Tom Blomqvist: “Wow, where has the year gone? Obviously a big weekend coming up for us, especially as a team. We’ve closed what was a big gap in the manufacturer championship. So coming into Petit, the goal is to secure that for Acura, HRC and everyone at MSR. Been a pretty cool year. A lot of growing pains, but some pretty outstanding results with two wins and six podiums. This weekend, the goal is to win and I think we can, personally. I think we’re going to have a good car, and the team has been getting better every race. We’ve won this race twice as a team, so I hope it’s good to us again. Looking forward to it, but sad the season is coming to an end.

Renger van der Zande: “Yes, really looking forward to Petit Le Mans. It’s the last race of the season with a lot to play for, so the pressure is on for us and our competitors in the manufacturer championship. We’ve come from far back to be in the position to fight for it, and that’s a credit to every single person on the team. I’m looking forward to getting the week going, of course, and to see how competitive we can be in the race and with strategy. But we’ve done all of our homework to make it happen, so bring it on!
