Indianapolis-based firm grows client footprint to include all-Mazda championship
Indianapolis, Ind. (19 July 2017) – Sunday Group Management has been selected as the media relations agency of record for the Battery Tender Mazda Global MX-5 Cup presented by BFGoodrich Tires. The Mazda-owned series is sanctioned by INDYCAR and managed by Andersen Promotions.
Launching the program with the series’ annual Spring Training event in March, Sunday Group is providing social media strategy and activation, media relations management and content development, as well as supporting on-site marketing initiatives for the championship.
The efforts have also seen Sunday Group focus on the all-new series website (http://mx-5cup.com) as well as growing the social media following and engagement for the series via twitter (@globalmx5cup), Instagram (@globalmx5cup), and Facebook . Sunday Group has also been an active partner in promoting the live streaming that Mazda has provided this season, which has produced over 1.5 million views via the Mazda Facebook Page and www.mazdalive.com.
The series is the North American edition for the Global MX-5 Cup which has initiated a championship in Japan and is anticipated to continue to establish additional championships around the world. Every competitor competes in the same Global MX-5 Cup car that is built by Long Road Racing utilizing a production car base.

The 2017 Global MX-5 Cup season features four races held in support of Verizon IndyCar Series events as well as the season-finale at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.
