AERO Sustainable Paint Technology Ready for 24 Hours of Dubai with Brookspeed

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (11 January 2018) –Having closed the 2017 season with a victory in Abu Dhabi, AERO Sustainable Paint Technology teams will look to kick the 2018 racing season off with a big result in Dubai as the first significant twice around the clock race event of the year will take place this weekend.

The CREVENTIC 24Hour Series will stage the season-opening Hankook 24 Hours of Dubai at the Dubai Autodrome, with a large multi-class field set to take on the 16-turn circuit through 24 hours of racing this weekend.

AERO partner squad Brookspeed International Motorsport will compete in the popular GT4 class with a stout five-driver line up for the No. 40 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport  entry. The team will look to utilize the American duo of Michelin GT Challenge driver and Dubai 12 Hour class winner, Jim McGuire along with fellow American racer John Schauerman, who competed at the first CREVENTIC’s 24Hour Series event in Dubai last year driving an AERO Paint-equipped Porsche Cayman GT4.

McGuire and Schauerman will team with IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge winning driver Pierre Kleinubing and Pirelli World Challenge multi-race winner Ian James. The quartet of drivers – who already have experience driving together at the 24 Hours of COTA last year – will be joined by British ace pilot Bell to round out the driver lineup and go up against the 91-car field that includes eleven different classes.

“This is a long event and of course we want to finish well,” said Kleinubing. “I have known Ian (James), Jim (McGuire) and John (Schauerman) for a long time and I know we can bring it home and have a trouble-free race. In these long races, having a little bit of luck helps you do well. I have done some endurance events with IMSA this year, so I am used to the longer stints and multiple pit stops.”

James, who raced with Brookspeed last year in this event, is looking forward to teaming back up with the squad for another endurance event.

“We had a good run, just kept out of trouble and did all the laps to make it to the finish so hopefully we can do that and have a good result this weekend,” said James. “The car is fun to drive and the (Hankook) tires last pretty well so there is a lot of good feedback for the driver. I think it will be a lot of fun to do a 24-hour race at this track.”
