Negri Returns to Le Mans

Le Mans, France – (13 June 2019) – Ozz Negri will be back in race action this weekend, as the 2012 Rolex 24 At Daytona winner returns to Le Mans for the Michelin Le Mans Cup Road to Le Mans double-race weekend.
Negri made his 24 Hours of Le Mans debut with Meyer Shank Racing in 2016 and will share the driving duties this year with Francesco Piovanetti in the No. 52 Spirit of Race Ferrari 488 GT3. The weekend will feature one 55-minute race on Thursday, with a second race on Saturday as part of the build-up to the 87th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
The duo  are continuing to build on their race program that has included outings in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship as well as podium appearances in Asian Le Mans competition. They are now looking to convert lessons learned on board the Ferrari 488 GT3 into another successful outing at La Sarthe.
Negri raced in the LMP2 category in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, and is relishing the chance to take to the 8.5-mile circuit on board the Ferrari 488.
“It is amazing to be back at Le Mans,” said Negri, who has maintained his rigorous triathlon training. “This event is so cool, and I am looking forward to driving the Ferrari here. It will be different of course compared to racing in a Prototype, but I think it will be a lot of fun. Francesco (Piovanetti) continues to improve with every experience that he has, and for him to get this event on his resume will be important to build on. Spirit of Race has a very big program for the weekend and does an outstanding job so our focus is on getting up to speed quickly and learning a lot!”
