Smacircle® and Wham-O® Join Heinricher Racing for the 2020 Championship Effort in IMSA GTD Class

IMSA GTD team to rely on innovative, folding electric bicycle as the perfect solution for paddock transportation

SUN VALLEY, Idaho (13 February 2020) – With a race team and race series built on developing the latest technology, Heinricher Racing proudly welcomes Smacircle in partnership with Wham-O as partners for the 2020 race season. Smacircle manufactures the innovative S1—the world’s most efficient and powerful electric bike that folds up to fit in a backpack.

“We are thrilled to be partnered with Heinricher Racing,” said Todd Richards, president of Wham-O, USA.  “We knew Smacircle was a winner for race teams; we’ve found a winning partner in the Heinricher team.”

Weighing just 19 pounds, the Smacircle S1 is one of the most portable electric bicycles ever developed. The carbon fiber frame and wheel hub motor system allow the rider to cruise up to 20 mph and travel up to 13 miles on the rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Thanks to these features and more, the S1 was chosen as a 2020 CES Innovation Award Honoree.

“It means so much to have Smacircle support and believe in our racing effort,” said team principal Jackie Heinricher. “We think the S1 is going to make a huge impact for us and all race teams who need efficient, environmentally friendly mobility around the paddock areas. This electric bicycle will help us save time as we navigate faster between events and commitments on race weekends. Just as important, the bicycle folds up to such a compact size that it easily stores on race transporters where every inch of space is valuable.”

Smacircle and Wham-O will be showcased on the Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 starting at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach. Heinricher Racing is also an official dealer of the Smacircle S1. Look for the folding electric bicycles at work in the paddock during the 2020 IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship season.
