Braselton, Ga. (16 October 2020) – The No. 57 Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing Acura NSX GT3 will start sixth for the Motul Petit Le Mans on Saturday. Misha Goikhberg posted a 1:19.666-second lap to put the Acura on the third row for the 10-hour endurance event (12:30pm ET, NBCSN).
With Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta staging the third endurance event of the 2020 IMSA season, Trent Hindman returned on board the No. 57 Heinricher Racing Acura alongside Alvaro Parente and Goikhberg.
A busy opening Thursday at Road Atlanta saw three practice sessions prior to Friday’s qualifying session.
Goikhberg, who has seen steady improvement in his qualifying efforts this season, was tapped again for qualifying duties at the 2.54-mile track. He was looking to match his best qualifying position of fourth from the Daytona 240. In one of the tightest sessions this season, Goikhberg’s fastest lap was only 0.4 seconds off of the top spot, placing the No. 57 Acura sixth in the order.
“I did everything that I could in that qualifying run,” said Goikhberg. “The field is so close and tomorrow’s race is going to be a tight battle until the finish. The guys have been working really hard to give us a consistent race car because that is what’s going to be most important for tomorrow.”
The Motul Petit Le Mans is set for a green flag start at 12:40pm ET on Saturday with NBCSN broadcast coverage beginning at 12:30pm ET.
