Blomqvist Puts Acura on Pole with New Track Record at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta

BRASELTON, GA (10 October 2025) — Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian (“Acura MSR”) captured the Pole Award in qualifying for the Petit Le Mans, the final race of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

Tom Blomqvist led Friday’s qualifying with a track record lap of 1:09.628-seconds in the No. 60 MSR Acura ARX-06. Teammate Nick Yelloly will start the 10-hour classic on his rear wing, posting a third-best lap of 1:09.908-seconds in the No. 93 MSR Acura ARX-06.

Acura enters the finale second in the IMSA GTP Manufacturers’ Championship, and will take the all-important title if one of its two cars finishes ahead of the competing marque.

It was the sixth career pole for Blomqvist, and his second for Petit Le Mans. It was the 10th pole for the Acura ARX-06. Blomqvist will co-drive with Colin Braun and six-time IndyCar champion and two-time Petit Le Mans winner Scott Dixon. Blomqvist and Braun won this year’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of Watkins Glen, in addition to taking third in the most recent race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Blomqvist and Braun enter the finale running second in the Michelin Endurance Cup, only three points out of the lead in the championship that embraces the five endurance races on the IMSA schedule.

Yelloly shares the No. 93 Acura with fellow Detroit winner Renger van der Zande and team newcomer Tristan Vautier. Yelloly and van der Zande enter the finale fourth in the GTP championship, with Braun and Blomqvist seventh.

Acura MSR won in its most recent Petit Le Mans appearance, taking the 2023 event with Blomqvist, Braun and four-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves.

The 10-hour race takes the green flag at 12:10 p.m. on Saturday. The opening three hours of the race will be televised on NBC, beginning at noon ET. The entire event will be streamed live on Peacock and broadcast on SiriusXM channel 206.

Acura Meyer Shank Racing Driver Quotes:

Tom Blomqvist: “Tuning up for Qualy, we weren’t too sure where we were going to stack up to be honest. We struggled a little bit in practice, but the guys worked super hard overnight to see if there were some things that we could try and improve on, and the car really came alive. Our car is typically pretty good when the weight comes out of it and you put new tires on and have a fresh track. Really happy everyone for Acura MSR and HRC. They work really, really hard. We took a bit of a gamble and it seemed to pay off.”

Nick Yelloly: “First and third for Acura in qualifying which is great. We missed two of the practices yesterday, so to put the 93 third on the grid with no laps and no qualifying sim, I was pretty happy with that. Long race tomorrow, but we’re starting at the sharp end which is what we both needed. And it’s a few more points for Acura for the manufacturer championship, so very happy with the effort from all the boys at girls at MSR and Honda and let’s get ‘em tomorrow.”
