Racing to End Alzheimer’s looks to end season on a high note at Road Atlanta

LOS ANGELES (September 28, 2026) – Racing to End Alzheimer’s aims to finish their second season with the Stephen Cameron Racing team strong in Friday’s Fox Factory 120 for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta (11:40 a.m. on Peacock).

The 2026 season saw the team earn its first series victory, with drivers Sean Quinlan and Greg Liefooghe capturing the win at VIRginia International Raceway last month. Now, they look to put the No. 19 Racing to End Alzheimer’s Ford Mustang GT4 back in Victory Lane and honor the people who have supported the team this season – and the 203 loved ones whose names ride on the car.

“2026 has been a typical roller coaster year,” said Racing to End Alzheimer’s founder Phil Frengs. “Finally getting that victory meant the world to us. Road Atlanta is a tough track, but we’ve had success there over the years and hopefully, we’ll end the season with a good result.”

Racing to End Alzheimer’s has raced at Road Atlanta six times since 2017, with two podium finishes. Cameron Racing has contested seven IMPC races at Road Atlanta, with a best finish of second in 2020.

Liefooghe considers Road Atlanta to be one of the most challenging tracks on the schedule, with the varied corners and elevation changes causing teams a significant setup conundrum.

“It’s a hard balance between hustling the car around and making it so it wants to go fast,” said Liefooghe. “It almost requires a different style for each corner and that makes it a challenging place to get the car to work. Each corner is so different that it’s really hard to find the right combination everywhere. To go fast, you need aero, but to pass people, you need to be trimmed out. That’s the challenge – it’s almost as though lap times and race-ability require two different cars. But it is a fun track to drive.”

Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is also a fan favorite, and Frengs knows that hundreds of people will be walking the paddock area all weekend – and many will stop to see the car and find their loved one’s name.

“Those are some of the truly special moments of the weekend,” said Frengs. “We have people who come to this race every single year, and they always come to see us. And we’ll meet new people – and continue our effort to “fund the care and find the cure.”

Racing to End Alzheimer’s gives families and friends the chance to honor loved ones who have been affected by Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. For a $250 donation, the loved one’s name and hometown is placed on both the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge Ford Mustang and the SRO GT4 America BMW M4, and the loved one’s photo can be posted on the Racing to End Alzheimer’s website’s tribute page. All donations are matched by Frengs’ company Legistics, with 100% going to the program’s two beneficiaries: the Nantz National Alzheimer Center at Houston Methodist, and the UCLA Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care Program.

To date, Racing to End Alzheimer’s has donated over $1.2 million to those two programs.
