MiataCon Returns to Lime Rock Park, Celebrating the Spirit of the Mazda MX-5 and the Generations Who Drive It

MiataCon 2025 adds free NEFT Vodka Movie Night to event lineup

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (9 October 2025)- What began in 2022 as an idea to bring Miata enthusiasts together for good vibes and friendly competition has grown into a national celebration of Mazda’s iconic roadster and the generations who drive it. MiataCon 2025 returns to Lime Rock Park October 24-25, uniting drivers, owners and fans from across the country for a weekend dedicated to the world’s most popular sports car.

Now in its third year, MiataCon 2025 captures the heart of grassroots motorsport with an accessible, authentic and community-driven event. More than 500 Miatas gathered at The Park last fall, transforming Lime Rock Park into a sea of color, pop-up headlights and camaraderie. This year’s event builds on that momentum with expanded track sessions, new corral prizes and a full slate of lifestyle experiences, including the new free NEFT Vodka Movie Night, that showcase what makes the Miata community unique.

MiataCon 2025 celebrates all generations of the Miata, and this year it will also honor designer Tom Matano with commemorative event artwork and a participant memorial sticker. A beloved and inspiring member of the automotive community who recently passed way, Matano designed the original MX-5, establishing the iconic design.

“MiataCon represents everything we love about grassroots motorsport,” said Lime Rock Park President and CEO Dicky Riegel. “It’s approachable, welcoming and driven by passion. Seeing hundreds of Miatas parked across our paddock is a reminder of what makes this community so special, it’s as much about the people as it is the cars. MiataCon is our love letter to the iconic Japanese roaster.”

New Race Groups Open to Professional and Club Racers

Sanctioned by the Sports Car Driving Association (SCDA), MiataCon’s competition program highlights new run groups for 2025, featuring Spec Miata,Open Exhibition NC/ND, Open Exhibition NA/NB and non-racing Miata-only HPDE for drivers gaining track experience.  (DRIVER REGISTRATION)

The popular MiataX autocross sessions on the FCP Euro Proving Grounds return with expanded slots both Friday (Oct. 24) and Saturday (Oct. 25), giving more participants, who register in advance, a chance to compete against the clock in a fun, low-pressure environment.  (AUTOCROSS REGISTRATION)

Hoosier Tire returns as a contingency sponsor, awarding race winners a pair of Hoosier tires and additional prizes for podium finishers. True to its community spirit, Lime Rock Park will underwrite the entry fees for each class winner to return in 2026 as “Miata Masters,” defending their titles at next year’s event and include an advanced Lapping Day with the Lime Rock Drivers Club for other podium finishers.

Registration is open to professional and club racers, continuing the event’s mission to make competitive driving approachable for all.

Moss Miata Car Show, Corrals and Vendors

MiataCon 2025’s car corrals bring together generations of the MX-5, grouped by NA, NB, NC and ND, plus Mazda and JDM sportscars and kei cars. Corral participants enjoy guaranteed paddock parking, a weekend parade lap and are automatically entered into the Moss Miata Car Show on Saturday, where fans vote for their favorite builds before the People’s Choice Awards at 3 p.m. and a product raffle at 3:30 p.m.

Moss Miata joins Mazda of Milford and Whaling City Mazda on location with displays and giveaways, alongside a vibrant midway of Miata-themed vendors and exhibits in Paddock B.

Author Bill Emerson Named Grand Marshal
Lime Rock Park named Bill Emerson as this year’s Grand Marshal. At 85, Emerson represents the event’s grassroots spirit, having restored his bright yellow 1999 Miata named Tweety Bird and traveled more than 10,000 miles with his wife, Nancy Ball, a journey chronicled in their book “Making Many Miata Mile” that has inspired drivers across the nation.

Additional Off Track Activities

On Friday, the Nutmeg Miata Club will lead different scenic drives through the Litchfield Hills, featuring three distinct 45-mile routes that highlight the best fall roads in northwest Connecticut.

Saturday’s MiataCon Mixer invites fans to unwind under the Country Carpenters Beer Pavilion from 5:15–7:30 p.m. where Fool Proof Brewing Company will serve its special MiataCon 2025 microbrew in a limited-edition collector’s event can. Awards will be given at Winner’s Circle, just down the hill from the Pavilion. The celebration continues with the NEFT Vodka Movie Night, a free screening of “F1: The Movie” starring Brad Pitt shown on the midway. Admission to the outdoor movie night is free for everyone when arriving at the event after 4:30 p.m.
