Pataskala, Ohio (31 July 2019) – The No. 57 Caterpillar Acura NSX GT3 of Heinricher Racing with Meyer Shank Racing will return to IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship action this weekend for the IMSA Road Race Showcase at Road America.
Katherine Legge and Bia Figueiredo will pair up to conquer the 4.0-mile road course in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
Legge’s Road America resume extends back to 2006 and includes an array of machines that she has wheeled around the circuit. Competing in CART, ALMS and Xfinity, Legge is familiar with every aspect of the high-speed Wisconsin circuit.
“I’m looking forward to Road America. It’s one of my favorite tracks in the world,” said Legge. “I’ve raced everything from Champ Car to NASCAR at this track and I love that it has fast corners, slow corners and elevation changes. I’m confident the crew will give us a strong car and that Bia and I can have a strong weekend.”
Figueiredo will be making her fifth start with Heinricher Racing this season and is coming off a fourth-place finish with the team at Watkins Glen. This race is Figueiredo’s first at Road America and she is studying a lot of video and data to prepare.
“I’m very happy to be back with Heinricher Racing and Meyer Shank Racing at Road America,” said Figueiredo. “It’s another track that I have never been to, but I have heard many good things about it. I have watched a bunch of races on TV from the track. I know it’s a very long track that has both fast and slow speed corners, so it should be a lot of fun. It’s also great to be racing with Katherine again and we are looking for a good result.”
“Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, is such a beautiful setting for a race weekend,” said team principal Jackie Heinricher. “I am very excited to be returning to my favorite track on the circuit with the #57 Heinricher Racing Caterpillar Acura. Both Katherine and Bia have proven their speed, professionalism and ability to race the field hard and fair. We’re looking to shake off the car difficulties of the last two races and put our heads down to compete for the podium.”
The IMSA Road Race showcase is set to go green on Sunday, August 4, at 2:35pm ET. A delayed NBCSN broadcast is set for 6:00pm ET.
