Harvey Ready to Finish IndyCar Season Strong at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca

Monterey, Calif. (16 September 2019) – Meyer Shank Racing’s 10 race NTT IndyCar campaign comes to a close this weekend as Jack Harvey takes the No. 60 AutoNation / SiriusXM Honda IndyCar to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca for the IndyCar season finale (Sept. 22, NBC 3:00pm ET).

Coming off of a bittersweet weekend at Portland International Raceway, which saw Harvey taken out by a competitor while racing in fourth position, Meyer Shank Racing is looking to once again show its strength among the highly competitive IndyCar field.

Harvey and the MSR squad have shown significant growth through their second season of IndyCar competition. From finishing third at the team’s 12th IndyCar race to qualifying in the top ten four times – including two appearances in the Firestone Fast Six – MSR has proven itself as a contender in the series.

Harvey and MSR tested at the 2.238-mile northern California circuit earlier this year and the performance of the young Brit was impressive having not competed at the track since 2016 in Indy Lights competition.

“I’m really excited to head back to Laguna Seca,” said Harvey. “We had a really solid test there earlier in the year so I’m excited to go back and see what we can do. It was great to have the speed that we had while in Portland and it’s a shame that the race had to end the way that it did. I have put that behind me and am only looking at continuing our progress at the season finale this weekend.”

“This year has been important for the team and for Jack,” said Mike Shank. “We have hit nearly all of our goals and even exceeded them at some tracks. We are finally getting into a groove with the competition and that learning curve is not so steep anymore. We’re hoping to finish out the season on a high note for AutoNation and SiriusXM.”

The Grand Prix of Portland will have live qualifying coverage on NBCSN on Saturday, September 21st at 4:30pm ET. The race will be broadcast live on NBC on Sunday, September 22nd starting at 2:30pm ET.
