Braselton, Ga. (10 October 2019) – TeamTGM showed continued strong pace as the team made its final qualifying attempt of the 2019 season at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta. The 2018 IMSA championship squad will start third and 25th on the grid for the Fox Factory 120 on Friday (IMSA.tv1:25pm ET). The hometown event for TeamTGM marks the last two-hour sprint race of the 2019 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) season.

Owen Trinkler took the wheel of the No. 46 Jayne Koskinas Ted Giovanis Foundation (JKTG) / Camp Boggy Creek Mercedes-AMG GT4 for the qualifying session. Trinkler battled through the 15-minute session securing his best start on the 2.54-mile course of third with a 1:25.992-second lap.

The effort marked another strong result for TeamTGM, which scored more poles than any other entry this season with top positions at Sebring International Raceway, Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, and Lime Rock Park.

“I am really happy for the TeamTGM guys,” said Trinkler. “We locked out the most poles this season which is a great accomplishment to have. We have a great race car, but we do not have the outright speed that our competitors have. I peddled that car as hard as I could – flat on the gas wherever I was able to. We will see what happens tomorrow during the race.”

Continuing to show improvement throughout the season, Ted Giovanis wheeled the No. 4 JKTG Foundation / Camp Boggy Creek Mercedes-AMG GT4 to his personal best time of the weekend of 1:29.843-seconds which places him on the 13th row for Friday’s race.

“I had a pretty good qualifying run,” said Giovanis. “The momentum has been building each time we are on this track. I even thought I could have laid down a faster lap, but I bobbled on one of the final turns. All in all, I keep learning each time I am out on track and hopefully it continues into the race tomorrow.”

The Fox Factory 120 will go green on Friday, October 11th at 1:25PM ET and will be streamed lived on IMSA.tv.
