Hagler Looking to Repeat History at Lime Rock Park

Leading points once again, Hagler heads into Lime Rock weekend as reigning race winner

Salisbury, Conn. (11 July 2022) – Returning to the track where she raced to her first-ever professional victory, Taylor Hagler heads to Lime Rock Park (LRP) for the Lime Rock Park 120 on July 16 (11:05 am ET, Peacock).

After combining for a run to the podium in the No. 1 Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) Hyundai Elantra N TCR with her BHA teammate Michael Lewis two weeks ago, Hagler is set for the return to Lime Rock Park for the seventh round of the 2022 IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge (IMPC) season. Hagler and co-driver Michael Lewis ran a strong race in the No. 1 BHA Hyundai at CTMP, shadowing the sister BHA entry all the way to the finish line.

The runner-up result at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park was the fourth podium of the season for the duo as they continue to deliver a strong defense of their breakthrough 2021 title.

While a win would have been sweet, the points were handy as Hagler and Lewis head to Connecticut atop the IMSA points standings by 40 markers. Lime Rock Park’s seven-turn, 1.478-mile track is one that puts a premium on pace and track position. With the lightning-quick laps, it is critical to stay on the lead lap as the strategy calls become even more pressure-packed than usual.

Continuing her charge for a second consecutive IMPC championship title, Hagler will look to focus on finishing on top of the podium at the Connecticut course once again.

“We know the Elantra N TCR has great speed, and I really enjoy the high speed and flowing nature of the Lime Rock circuit,” said Hagler. “So, this could be the perfect track to bring us a victory again. You have to be defensive, and it’s very easy to run into traffic, so that is definitely something we will be keeping in mind all weekend. Michael (Lewis) has been such a powerful co-driver, and I can’t wait to see how we run at Lime Rock Park and hopefully repeat what we accomplished last year with Bryan Herta Autosport and Hyundai.”

The two-hour Lime Rock Park 120 will go green on July 16 at 11:05 am ET with flag-to-flag coverage on Peacock.
