Four IMSA races highlight FCP Euro Northeast Grand Pix presented by Liqui Moly at Lime Rock Park

LAKEVILLE, CONN. (28 June 2023)- In less than a month, IMSA will return to Lime Rock Park for the FCP Euro Northeast Grand Prix presented by LIQUI MOLY July 21-22. Celebrating its 51st anniversary at the high-speed Connecticut circuit, the event will bolster more on-track action with IMSA doubling the number of races on Saturday for the two-day event, which includes the return of prototypes to The Park.

What’s Racing?

For the first time since 2013, prototypes will take to the track in competition as LMP3-spec machines are set to debut with the GSX (GT4) Sport Cars in the new VP Racing SportCar Challenge for two 45-minute sprint races. The IMSA VP Racing SportsCar Challenge features competition for Bronze- or Silver- rated drivers competing in LMP3 prototypes and GT4 machinery in the new GSX class. Only one driver is allowed in each car for the weekend, with no pit stops during the sprint-format races.

The IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship will stage an exciting 2-hour, 40-minute endurance race, equipped with pit stops and driver changes. The WeatherTech Championship spotlights the GT3 classes, including the awaited new models from Ferrari, Porsche and Lamborghini that will make their official debuts at Lime Rock in the GTD Pro and GTD classes.

The TCR category of the Michelin Pilot Challenge will complete the weekend with the Lime Rock Park 100.

Schedule Changes*

With double the amount of racing held on Saturday (July 22), the on-track activity will start even earlier than in the past. The VP Racing SportsCar Challenge will stage its first of two races starting at 9:05 a.m. on Saturday.

The green flag will drop for the featured WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race at its new earlier time of 12:10 p.m. The VP Racing SportCar Challenge finale starts at 3:05 p.m. and the Michelin Pilot Challenge will wrap up the four-race event, featuring a 100-minute endurance race starting at 4:15 p.m.

Practice and qualifying for the three championships will be held throughout the day on Friday (July 21). The full event schedule can be found here: Provisional Schedule – NEGP

Interactive IMSA Experiences

Every general admission ticket for the Northeast Grand Prix includes full access to the paddock, and IMSA is taking full advantage by offering multiple interactive fan experiences.

On Saturday morning, the WeatherTech Championship drivers will hold a 30-minute autograph session outside each of their team transporters starting at 9:30 a.m., allowing fans to tour the paddock and meet their favorite drivers.

The WeatherTech Championship cars and teams will line both sides of the Pit Lane for fans to get an up-close look at the field during the first of two Fan Walks. The production-based touring cars will be staged in the False Grid ahead of the Michelin Pilot Challenge finale at 3:05 p.m. for another exciting Fan Walk experience.
