Pataskala, Ohio (28 September 2023) – As Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) heads into the final IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race of the season, the team is looking forward to bringing back a team tradition of having fans leave their mark by signing the No. 60 Acura at the Motul Petit Le Mans event weekend.

This year’s 26th Annual Motul Petit Le Mans will see Meyer Shank Racing make its 10th start at the iconic 10-hour day-to-night event. The team has won the race twice overall, as well as having secured three IMSA titles in the often unpredictable race.

To finish out the season on a high note, Meyer Shank Racing is excited to bring back a tradition that started years ago, by letting IMSA fans sign the hood of the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 driven by Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun.

MSR has had a long-standing mission in its 350th IMSA starts to drive fan engagement and get fans involved as much as possible. MSR first started allowing fans to sign its cars in 2015 and quickly became something for fans to look forward to while on the grid.

“I’ll say it over and over again, but when you come to IMSA races, the access is unprecedented,” said Mike Shank. “Fans have the ability to get up close and touch and really see the fine details of all of the cars – it’s something that makes this sport so special and unique in my mind.

“Here at MSR, we try our best to encourage fans to come up to any of our crew guys, ask questions and learn. We’ve always been an open book, and we truly wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the fans. By letting them sign the hood of the car, it’s a way for fans to be a part of our team. We will have to do it little bit different this year, because of the hybrid aspect of the GTP, it cannot be touched and it will be roped off during the grid walk. This year we’ll just pull the nose off to be able to let fans safely sign it during Friday’s autograph session.”

With COVID restraints putting a hold on the tradition the last few years, MSR is excited to once again welcome fans to leave a piece of history on the team’s GTP.

Leave your mark on the MSR GTP machine during the official autograph session on Friday, October 13th (currently set for 12:00-1:00pm ET). The hood of the No. 60 MSR Acura will be on display outside trucks in the paddock area.
