Meyer Shank Racing Heads West for Round 4 of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship

Salinas, Calif. (7 May 2025) – Acura Meyer Shank Racing (Acura MSR”) heads to WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca this weekend for Round 4 of the 2025 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. With a strong record at the historic 2.2-mile, 11-turn road course, the team is poised to make another strong showing and chase down their first win of the season on Sunday (3:00pm ET, NBC, SiriusXM Ch. 206).

The core four is back in the two-car Acura GTP entries, which includes the No. 93 Acura ARX-06 piloted by the duo of Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, as well as the No. 60 shared by Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun. With back-to-back podiums in the season’s first two rounds, all four drivers are eager to redeem the trying results from the previous round in Long Beach.

For both drivers and team, there is a mixed bag when it comes to prior results at Laguna. Blomqvist and Acura MSR secured a second-place finish in 2022, while Braun has earned five top-3 finishes across classes, and is targeting a breakthrough result this year.

On the other side, Yelloly has raced only twice at the famed raceway, while van der Zande has 5 podiums and 3 wins, with his last victory as recently as 2023.

MSR has enjoyed prior success at Laguna Seca, including three wins, multiple top-five finishes, and poles as recently as 2020 and 2018. The team has been lauded for managing tire strategy and traffic on the technical California circuit known for its elevation changes and iconic Corkscrew.

Meyer Shank Racing fields entries in both the IMSA series, as well as the NTT INDYCAR Series. This weekend marks one of a few conflicts in which both series are racing at different venues. Team owner Mike Shank will spend the first half of the weekend in Indianapolis, attending the Indy GP which takes place on Saturday. Then he will fly to California for the IMSA race on Sunday.

Sunday’s TireRack.com Monterey SportsCar Championship has a green flag scheduled for 3:10 PM ET. Fans can watch flag-to-flag coverage on NBC and Peacock beginning at 3 p.m. ET, as well as live IMSA Radio coverage on SiriusXM channel 206.  The live Qualifying Stream will air on Peacock Saturday, May 10 at 6:10 p.m. ET.

Live IMSA radio coverage can also be accessed on SiriusXM channel 206.

Meyer Shank Racing Team Quotes:

Nick Yelloly: “I’m looking forward to getting back in the car after Long Beach and getting the result we deserve. The test went well in Laguna and excited about getting back to the infamous track this weekend. It’s a track I really enjoy and we can definitely make a difference there as a team and as drivers. Can’t wait for race day!”

Colin Braun: “Ready to get going again after a disappointing Long Beach and a great test in Laguna. Spirits are high and we are ready to give it everything. Laguna has been a good track for me in the past. Both Tom and I didn’t compete here in 2024, so the repave is new for us and it was fun and challenging at the test. Getting back to the standard IMSA race length will be lots of fun with the complex strategies in play. Everyone at MSR and HRC has prepared tirelessly and we are ready!”
