PORTLAND, Ore. (Aug. 30, 2019) – Battery Tender® Global Mazda MX–5 Cup Presented by BFGoodrich Tires® points leader Bryan Ortiz was the quickest in practice at Portland International Raceway.
Ortiz (No. 4 Copeland Motorsports) topped both practice sessions at the 1.964-mile circuit. His lap of 1:25.3555-seconds in the afternoon session was the fastest of the day. Robert Stout (No. 28 McCumbee McAleer Racing) was second-quickest in combined practice times. Rookie Gresham Wagner was third quickest.
In the ND1 class for the previous generation MX-5 Cup race car, John Dean II (No. 16 Sick Sideways Racing) set the best practice time of the day.
Qualifying is set for 8:30am local time Saturday. The first of two races in Portland goes green at 12:45pm Saturday. Sunday’s race takes place at 8:30am. Both races will be streamed live on MazdaMotorsports.com.
