IMSA Champion Taylor Hagler Returns to Bryan Herta Autosport for 2022

San Antonio, TX (5 January 2022) – IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge’s first female champion, Taylor Hagler, is set to return to Bryan Herta Autosport (BHA) for the 2022 IMSA season. Hagler and BHA joined forces in 2021 and proved to be a winning combination in the highly competitive TCR ranks. Hagler and her co-driver Michael Lewis took the 2021 IMSA title, and will look to repeat the feat in 2022.

The duo have a strong set of results to build on, having netted five podium appearances including a TCR class win at Lime Rock Park in 2021. With those results, Hagler became the winningest female of 2021 in IMSA. Lewis enters his fifth season behind the wheel of a Hyundai having earned two IMSA championships with BHA (2019 and 2021).

The 2022 season will see the duo move to the Hyundai Elantra platform in the No. 1 Bryan Herta Autosport Hyundai Elantra N TCR. The Elantra N TCR was introduced last season and collected two wins in it’s inaugural season at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course and WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Those wins along with Hagler’s success helped BHA and Hyundai secure the 2021 TCR Team and Manufacturers Championship.

“I’m proud to continue with Bryan Herta Autosport as the defending series champions in 2022,” said Hagler. “I’ve found a home with BHA and Hyundai and I can’t wait to get to work and see what we can accomplish in the Hyundai Elantra N TCR. The team has worked very hard to develop the platform and we should be strong from the start of the season. It’s going to be great to be with Michael Lewis again this season and build on the great relationship we have built. We will be pushing each other to bring another great result in 2022!”

Hagler and the BHA squad will kick off the 2022 season at Daytona International Speedway with four days of testing during the Roar Before the 24 on January 20-23rd before the season opening Endurance Challenge race on Friday, January 28th at 1:30 pm ET.
